Cover reveal of ‘Infernal Devices’ manga plus first chapter available online

Yen Press is debuting the cover reveal for the Infernal Devices manga, which features the lovely Will Herondale on the cover, on their latest issue of Yen Plus.

Yen Plus is also featuring the first chapter of the Infernal Devices, which requires a subscription.

“Just who is that dapper young man on this month’s cover, you may be wondering. Why, it’s Mr. William Herondale, scoping out the streets of London for any foul beasties lurking in the night. In Cassandra Clare’s The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Angel, sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray travels to London to reunite with her brother but is instead swept off to the darkest haunts of London’s most merciless Downworlders. Will and the rest of the Shadowhunters have set themselves against these demons and vampires that lurk in the night, but for Tessa, a handsome face may be more dangerous than anything else hunting her in the dark…”

Who’s excited to see the first chapter?

First look at ‘Infernal Devices’ manga sketches

The Infernal Devices are joining its companion series The Mortal Instruments  in making its way from words to visual depictions.

The prequel series set in Victorian London is being developed by Yen Press into a manga series by artist HyeKyung Baek.

Chapters of The Infernal Devices will be serialized in Yen Press’s monthly online anthology magazine, Yen Plus, with publication of the first volume slated for Fall 2012.

Cassandra Clare shared some initial sketches from the manga studio:

Manga! Will, Tessa and Jem. These are some of the initial characters designs for the Infernal Devices manga by HyeKyung Baek. I liked Will and Tessa in the first one but wanted Jem with shorter hair, so his more final design is the second one!

What do you think? Are you looking to pick up The Infernal Devices manga along with the Mortal Instruments graphic novel?
