  1. The Jace on this cover is NOT my Jace! It’s just now Jace! This guy looks 25 Jace is 16! I’m sorry but if all the drawings are like this I might now read it!

    • Yes! i couldn’t agree more actually! He IS not Jace. Clary is alright though, but not what I had in mind.

      • Are you people dumb? Everyone has a different perception of a character and they picture them differently. They did the best they could so stop complaining that they don’t look exactly how you want them.

    • You are blind. Come back to your senses😒Graphic novel – amazing. Wonderful characters. Excellent job. Jace is beautiful. Clary is great.
Movie – retarded. Awful casting job. Horrid producers. Jace for example looks gag worthy in his gangster/Shadowhunter get-up. Clary – where’s the green eyes and red hair? Alec looks 30, thank you very much. Isabell… oh, Izzy… no, just no. Simon is just plain weird. Luke looks like a pervert. Jocelyn is terrible. Valentine is creepy as heck. Hodge is an odd one. Pangborn and Blackwell are the only ones I actually like and they die in the end. Well, I spoke my mind so, yeah. Thanks.

    • Oh get over it! Everyone. This is the Graphic Novel! Cassie chose Nik Virella to illustrate it precisely *because* she loved her drawing style and furthermore, she told Nik exactly how she wanted each character to look in the novel. I don’t understand how people cannot accept the fact that Jace is a fictional character and everyone has their own image of the way he’s “supposed to” look. Why can’t you view this GN for what it is: a beautiful companion to our favourite book series and a work of art that someone has poured hours and hours of hard work and their heart into?! You won’t buy/read it? Well that’s your loss.

  2. Oh my. That is absolutely not the young, slim and super gorgeous Jace Wayland! Sorry for that but Jace is the central of attraction, so killing his super good looking face will definitely a total mess.

    • i totally agree with you. I don’t know if i can read it, because then when I read TMI, how am i gonna picture Jace properly???

      • I know right. They have to know that getting Jace to look perfect is the top of the list for priorities. They need to fix that, otherwise alot of people may not want to read this. And that Jace in the pic is way out, he’s like what thirty? He’s not that old, he’s meant to be only seventeen! Ok, they got to fix that. But i think the rest is good. What does everyone think of Clare?

  4. i want to learn how to draw the runes
i cant seem to find the runes
maybe cassandra could make the actual Gray Book & The Book of White & even add clary’s runes to it to….hmmmmmm………………….

  6. Sorry, I hate to see only critisizem for a graphic novel, more so on a series I love so much. Unfortionatly I agree 100%. It just is nothing like I pictured, or like I imagen most people pictured.

  7. I like that he looks older. It shows the difference between the way he and Clary were raised. A person can’t go through everything Jace has been though and not look older than his age. As for plaid, cute guys make plaid look great all the time. Actually, they make everything look great. LOL

  8. Jace looks too young in my opinion, but it still looks good. I can’t wait to see Alec and Magnus in this adaption. :)

  9. Omg, where can I buy this?! Now I seriously hate living in Denmark. Nothing awesome ever comes to DK!! :(
    TMI forever. <3

    • Well hello my Danish friend !! Im from Denmark to :D
You might be surprised, because the vampire academy graphic novel is out in Denmark, in Politikens Boghandel- if you want to buy “special books/editons” you can go there…
Besides you can always order it online it it is- but we can cross our fingers that it will come out here :) Because i would love to read to, very badly !!!
Hope you see this- dont know how this works ?! :P

p.s why am i writing english to you ?! heehe

  10. I can not wait until this graphic novel comes out!!! The drawings are awesome and so much like the book. I love it already!!!!

    • Me too Kelly!
I love, love, love the way the GN is looking so far and can’t wait to get my hands on it!
      Absolutely awesome!!! :)

    • Isn’t it amazing how everyone sees things in their own, unique way? :)
Never in a million years would I have thought of Jace looking anything like him.

  12. I’m sorry, but the majority of this comment strand is BEYOND retarded.

Seriously, I thought we were all fans of the books. What kind of fan are you if you’re going to not read it because “That is so not how I pictured Jace.”

It’s still an AMAZING story. Just because one person’s vision of Jace isn’t the same as yours does not give you a legitimate reason to just drop the idea of reading the graphic novels!
It really sucks having to see how shallow my generation can be.

    • Thats a good point. But to some poeple like me, it matters just like it matter if the sun doesn’t come out. It’s how you picture things that make the book what it is, which (for the poeple who hate the books) is awsome. We all see things differently, just like we all learn differently. I hope for your sake though that you don’t want to stop reading it (like me) becuse of what jace looks like. I hope that only the story line is enough to look pass the inperfection and see the perfection.

  13. I wish they just made a manga version of this like the TID. Don’t you think manga would make Jace hot hot hot?

  14. I like this :) Forget Mr. Pettyfer who’s skills in acting are practically non-existent, since that’s what he’s got going for him i’m glad he’s not Jace, because Jace is more than just a pretty face. Yay Jamie, he deserves that role <3 he's beautiful

  15. Hey I have a completely random and yet totally amazing idea! Make Jace Chris Hemsworth. My dear gosh he is the most beautiful man in the world. He would be perfect as Jace, besides the fact he is turning thirty on August 11. Who cares though, cuz casting for him is already done. And my goodness, you are all so spiteful and mean to these people who are just doing their jobs. Sheesh. Sad. Just sad.

  17. For me (and this is just my opinion) no one could ever be Jace because how i see Jace there could only be close looks alikes. But for the 30 year old thats meant to be Jace is not part of the group of “look alike Jace”. He’s just too old and not as good looking.

  18. Are they releasing the City Of Bones graphic novel and then soon a City Of Ashes right after. Or will they eventually do a graphic novel including all the stories.
