@Luv4Jace A while ago but writing is rewriting. Now I’m doing the director’s draft, which includes his vision and visuals for the movie.

@carstairsjem I certainly hope so. But you never know until the final cut of the movie is done. Lots of things come into play.

Paquette will also write the City of Glass screenplay. Plans for the third film are not yet underway.
Production on City of Ashes is set to begin in the fall and wrap up around Christmas. Harald Zwart is returning to the director’s chair for the second installment with the cast returning. The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes is slated for worldwide release in 2014.

Can’t contain my excitement over this! To have my entire favourite book series turned into movies is more than I could ever have imagined. I’ll be ecstatic even if they just do the first trilogy (CoB, CoA and CoG) and to have Harald Zwart direct all the movies is just the icing on the cake! 😀
I don’t really understand why Raphael wasn’t included in the City of Bones, I get that they wanted to take the time to give him a proper introduction but if they are introducing a vampire lieutenant why couldn’t they just have called him Raphael and go into more detail with the character in the City of Ashes. I hope he is included in the final script, he is kind of a big deal in the series.
Is Maureen going to be casted for CoA????
I really can’t wait for casting calls to come out for this. I’m hoping to audition since the casting is happening in a city that I live near, for once.
YEAH YEAH YEAH. CITY OF GLASS A MOVIE ADAPATION YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH IT’S MY FAVOURITE BOOK OF THE SERIES.
YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH GO SCREENWRITERS, DIRECTOR, ACTORS… whatever… YOU MAKE FANS PROUD! 😀
I hope don’t pull a plot twist for COA’s ending (like *SPOILER him not getting the mortal sword like he didn’t get the cup, as that’s theatrically unnecessary and complicates the following movie’s plot by necessitating changes in the next adaptation, like how does Val. control Agramon now? *END OF SPOILER*), Valentine’s portrayal in the movie was Nothing like in the books, he’s made to look like a guy who isn’t a martial prodigy and tactician and one who prefers using physical violence and yelling rather than subtlety, seduction and rhetorical skill. Two, they could easily make Valentine’s hair white blond, they colored Jemima West’s hair black and Lena Heady’s hair red. Three, they should try and keep plot revelations in the movies to match what’s revealed in the books from no on (if the readers don’t find out about something in a book, then the audience shouldn’t in the adaptation,
What they should do is take a page out of how those who handled the adaptation of the Harry Potter books did, and ASK the author on whether that is how the movie scene went down in the book scene (that and keep the antagonist’s speeches rather than go strait to them attacking).
