After already revealing that fans should expect the cover for City of Heavenly Fire in winter, Cassie Clare also shared the first chapter title on her twitter:

Simons Sacrifice… Hmmm…. do you think that has anything to do with his sister?

maybe Raphel threatens to turn his sister into a vampire and he has to die or give up his daylighter power somehow.
What do you mean? He sacrifices his ‘right’ to see his sister because she isn’t part of the Shadow World? Like ‘Shadowhunters’ who are stripped of their Marks aren’t allowed to see their family?
i doubt is cause he is not allowed to see his sister for all we know Raphael keeps in touch with his family and the Clave doest care about that…. The clave is more strict with theirs cause the one they care are shadowhunters

Guys chill. It is known that CC likes to disorientate. If Simon were to be killed off she wouldn’t have put it in a chapter title and she wouldn;t have given it to us. It’s a trap. She just wants us to think that.
Most likely it refers to Izzy and a possible break up to keep her safe. He’s a downworlder and she’s a shadowhunter and well Jonathan was raised by Valentine and this is considered abomination.
I hope you are right,I can’t bare to see Simon die…actually I can’t stand the thought of any of them dying but its been said a Shadowhunter will die in CoHF. Ugh,I hope it ends well!
Simon’s sacfrice?! What does he have to sacfirce? Does he sacrfrice Isabelle? Or is it his sister? Maybe there could be a relationship brewing between Rebacca and Rapheal? (just a theory) Or is it clary? what is there left to sacfrice with clary….friendship possibly? Oh, reading this book is going to be the end of me.

there has to be something BIG to make it a chapter, I’m afraid he migth die and i dont want i refuse to believe she is gonna kill him the boy already suffer enough cause of his love for clary and now he is going to die…. lets hope she’s teasing us… like one of you said she wont give us a title like that is he is the one that really is going to die

I don’t think simon will die, she said it was the first chapter, I don’t think that they would kill off a main character in the very FIRST chapter. It’s probably something to keep his friends safe, like how he was willing to die to get Glorious to save Jace for Clary (CoLS), or to find the Church of Talto when he thought Isabelle or Clary was in trouble (CoFA). I’m staying optimistic about this since Simon’s my favorite, next to Alec.

I can think of two ways Simon will likely be “sacrificed.” One, he dies heroically (which I also really hope doesn’t happen). Two, he becomes a normal human again, shedding his vampirism, his knowledge of the Shadow World, and, most important, his love for Clary and Isabelle. He forgets all about the world he knew and the people he loved, which is a HUGE sacrifice. But I don’t know!
Wow that is an intense thing to think about! I really hope that it doesn’t mean him dying, because I am completely in love with him, but I want to agree with the people who think that it’s about Rebecca. But we can only assume the worst from Cassie.

Incase anyone didnt realise he sacrifices his mark of cain for the blde of heaven so maybe someone tries to attack him because they know that he sacrificed the mark of cain? Maybe just a suggestion!

No! Simon dying is too obvious for the chapter! If he does die in the book (pls no!) than it won’t be in this chapter. My bet is that he makes a really hard decision to help or protect clary, Isabelle or Rebecca.
i think that classandra is just getting all her fans confused which is really normal for writers its their usual trick so i really believe that no one will die especially not simon so guys just chill because clare is just confusing us and its possible that the chapter name is faq
its probably also true that simon has to leave rebbeca back home and never meet her again which is a big sacrifice from a brother(simon)
