Celebrate July 4th with two new ‘City of Lost Souls’ teasers

Check out the latest 'City of Lost Souls' teaser.

Cassandra Clare treated her readers to two special City of Lost Souls teasers in honor of the 4th of July.

While Clare was at first reluctant about putting up the “torturous” teaser from the fifth installment of The Mortal Instruments, she eventually caved and shared.

And, oh, what a doozy it is!

“I know about parabatai,” said Magnus, an angry, dark undercurrent to his voice. “I’ve known parabatai so close they were almost the same person; do you know what happens, when one of them dies, to the one that’s left —?”

Oh dear.

First though: Will and Jem. Second thought: which one dies? Third thought: history to repeat itself? Fourth thought: @*#&$^%

(Quick note about parabatai: Will & Jem in TID and Jace & Alec in TMI)

No one knows how to torture an audience quite like Cassie does.

Clare shared another teaser, though not as torturous as the first, is still quite intriguing:

“He reached her and held his hands out; she took them, and let him pull her to her feet. His pale gold eyes searched her face. “I want you with me,” he said. “But I want it to be your choice. Once we go, there’s no coming back.”

This seems very likely to be a Jace and Clary scene. If so, where is Jace going?
