Don’t expect any ‘City of Bones’ movie news until October
A fan asked Cassandra Clare on Twitter when we could expect some new movie news in regards to the adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
The answer? Not at least for another six weeks, which is around the start of October.
“There isn’t going to be any news for six weeks,” Clare tweeted. “I can’t say why. (Please don’t assume that means that in six weeks exactly I will have Big News. I just know that there will not be any news I can share for six weeks.)”
This isn’t to say that the producers haven’t been busy casting the rest of the roles in the film but perhaps they want to make a collective announcement. Besides, it has been noted that there are other aspects of the film that they have been working on, which could include sets, props, script re-writes, etc.
This also isn’t to say that we might not hear any new movie news from this point until October. It merely means that Clare isn’t allowed to divulge what she knows until then. Actors might slip up and drop hints. It’s up to the fans and media outlets to put together the pieces.
Production on City of Bones is scheduled to begin in November, with filming expected to begin in January.
