Tune Tuesday: “Monster” by Skillet

Every Tuesday here at The Mortal Instruments Source is Tune Tuesday,  where we share a song that relates to The Mortal Instruments or The Infernal Devices. In honor of the recently released Clockwork Prince teaser trailer, this week’s song is “Monster” by Skillet and it just screams Will Herondale. The song alludes to the protagonist as a "Monster," and I feel this fits Will--but not in the way that the lyrics portray.

The secret side of me/I never let you see/I keep it caged/But I can't control it/So stay away from me

I believe those lyrics reference Will's vulnerability and his feelings for Tessa. He is always pushing her away when he has his moments of vulnerability, particularly at the end of Clockwork Angel.
