Final ‘Clockwork Princess’ snippet of 2011 in honor of Tessa’s ‘Heroine Tourney’ win

Tessa is the No. 3 seed.

Friday’s Extraordinary Eight round of YA Sisterhood’s ‘Tournament of Heroines’ pitted ‘The Infernal Devices’ against ‘The Mortal Instruments.’ Downworlder against Shadowhunter. Tessa Gray against Isabelle Lightwood.

Tessa (No. 3 seed) defeated Izzy (No. 6 seed) by more than 600 votes to advance to the final four, where she with face off vs. Katniss Everdeen (No. 2seed).

Because Tessa won the previous round, Cassandra Clare shared another teaser from ‘Clockwork Princess,’ the final teaser of 2011.

So Tessa won her match against Izzy (poor Izzy – *tear*) which means a Clockwork Princess spoiler. [The next match is Clary vs. Hermione which I expect to be seriously brutal! But now it’s time to rest from the battle and enjoy a spoiler from CP2.)

Clockwork Princess — last spoiler of 2011!

Jem drew the bow back and let the arrow fly; it struck the creature in the side. The massive demon worm writhed in agony, undulating as it swept its great, blind head from side to side, uprooting shrubbery with its thrashings. Leaves filled the air and the boys choked on dust, Gideon backing up with his seraph blade in his hand, trying to see by its light.

“It’s coming toward us,” he said in a low voice.

And indeed it was, the arrow still protruding from its wet, grayish skin, humping its body along with incredible speed. A flick of its tail caught the edge of a statue, sending it flying into the dry ornamental pool, where it shattered into dust.

“By the Angel, it just crushed Sophocles,” noted Will. “Has no one respect for the classics these days?”
