Announcement of new ‘City of Bones’ director on the way?

Could an announcement regarding the new director of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones be on the way?

Author Cassandra Clare revealed that she isn’t allowed to divulge the name of the new director, who will be replacing Scott Stewart, but hinted that he/she is someone fans would recognize for some of his/her films.

She said that Constantin Films is working on putting out a press release, which is the way these things are traditionally done, to announce the new director.

I got the call from on high to not say anything about the director as they are putting out a press release which is, to be fair, the usual way of doing things. One does not usually find out movie info because the author is overfond of her tumblr. So when the news does come out, I’ll give you the personal lowdown on my thoughts.

Could this mean that the new director’s identity could be revealed any day now?

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones stars Lily Collins (Clary) and Jamie Campbell Bower (Jace) and will begin filming on August 15 in Toronto and New York. There is currently no release date for the film.
