German media outlet Sky Deutschland acquires programming rights to ‘City of Bones’
With filming on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones set to begin in less than a month, there is already a high demand for the project some say have the potential to be the next big book-to-film franchise.
THR is reporting that Sky Deutschland, a German TV outlet, signed a multi-year deal with Constantin Film, the studio behind The Mortal Instruments, for the Pay TV (subscription) rights to The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
Here are the details from THR:
Sky Deutschland, the pay TV operation controlled by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., has signed a multi-year programming deal with local mini-major Constantin Film for pay TV rights in Germany and Austria to Constantin’s local-language features and international co-productions.
The agreement encompasses all titles for which Constantin holds the pay TV rights with a production start through the end of 2015.
Some of the top features included in the deal are The Mortal Instruments, Constantin’s adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s best-selling youth fantasy novel, starring Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower; and Resident Evil: Retribution, the latest in Paul W.S. Anderson’s juggernaut horror sci-fi franchise, which hits theaters this September.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is slated for an August 23, 2013 release.

I LOVE the Mortal Instrument Series! I honestly think actually know that it is way better then the twilight series. I like the twilight series BUT I LOVE the Mortal Instrument Series! I know its a year away until it comes out but I am so excited! I really want to see this movie and can’t wait for it to come out! I think of things on the brighter side so to me it’s not a long time away it’s just a month then a year. 🙂

yay so many are interested in tmi! i think tmi will defnitely become big and it it should. I love ther series and I ma excited for the movie adapation of city of bones, I hope they adapt all the books as well as infernal devices and dark artifices. there are three movies so far that coming out in 2013 and the new few years or so, city of bones, catching fire, the host, the mocking jay movies, other tmi movies possibly and possibly infernal devices. I may be looking forward to fifty shads of grey the movie version too. anyways i still love twilight saga, ut I think I may love tmi,Id and hunger games more now. i’m also excited for BD Part 2.
