Jonathan Rhys Meyers spotted in Toronto
Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Valentine) has been spotted in Toronto by Mr. Will and has already begun work on THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES.
He tells me he arrived in Toronto about a week ago to begin work on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. This first Adaptation of Cassandra Clare‘s popular Novels has Meyers starring as Arch Villain Valentine Morgenstern, who happens also to be the Biological Father of Clary Fray (Lily Collins) and also the Adoptive Father of Jace Lightwood (Jamie Campbell Bower).
Although filming for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is set to wrap early next month, Meyers simultaneously is getting ready to begin work in the Titular Role on upcoming NBC Series, Dracula.
While Rhys Meyers has been working on THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS, no word on whether he had begun filming yet.
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES is slated for an August 23, 2013 theatrical release.

I was so happy with this casting when I heard it, though I wanted Alexander Skarsgard, I think Jonathon will really pull it off, even in this picture he looks suitably creepy. But he’s obviously not going Valentine blond then?

I think when an actor takes on a role they should commit to it fully. so I truly hope and pray his hair will be white blonde as this just f’s up the introduction of villain no2 Sebastian 😦
i’m sure he will. he may wear a wig or dye it a slightly darker blonde as it may be too extreme for him to dye in such a short time
That article just spoiled one of the biggest myteries of the original trilogy! People really shouldn’t read that if they don’t know the story 😛
Not his best picture, but he still looks unbelievably handsome.
Seems like he’s not going white blond for the role.. I would understand though.. it’s really hard to get dark hair that blond without ruining it..
by the angel he is hot! valentine will be quite hot though i’ll hate him but love the actor. though it makes sense since jocelyn is pretty too leaving good looking children. but they probably shouldn’t have said adoptive but people might figure out in first book anyways. but maybe ti’s better since and that it’s better some peopel might figure they’re not related before third movie to avoid stupid controversy
If he doesn’t go ash blond I think I will cry – that’s such an important thing for the character and everything with his children and Sebastian and it’s also just VALENTINE – his blond hair is like a part of him. Such epic casting though, this is what I’ve been waiting for – the actor for my favourite character is FINALLY on set homg I have such feels right now.
