Lily Collins promises ‘heart-pumping action’ in new MORTAL INSTRUMENTS trailer

TMI4 The new theatrical trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones isn't set to debut online until Monday, but star Lily Collins (Clary) promises "heart-pumping action," "great music" and "high energy" in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“It ends, and you have to watch it again because there’s so much packed into the trailer,” the actress tells The Hollywood Reporter. “The first time I watched it, I asked to watch it three other times just ‘cause it’s so much that happens, it’s like a whirlwind. "As well as hopefully pleasing the fans of the series, I think we're going to invite new people in and make them obsessed with the story as well,” Collins says. “I couldn't be prouder of the project. I'm so excited for people to see it. I really think Harald [Zwart, the director] did an amazing job of taking what could've been a CGI-heavy, action-packed film and really made it about heart and character and emotion. Special effects are just the icing on top.”

Lily, having been a fan of the books before she signed on, has been very passionate about the project.

“I was a fan before I was cast, so it’s something that I’ve been passionate about before really being involved in,” she says. “I believe in the producers at Constantin and I know that they have a really good taste level when it comes to the creative side… I just prayed that it wouldn’t come to the time when they were ready to shoot and I was doing something else.”

As far as potential sequels, Lily would love to play Clary for awhile.

“As with any potential franchise, you just leave it up to kind of the fans and to see what happens,” she muses. “I signed on because I love Clary and I would want to play her for as long as I can. At the end of the day, you have to kind of step back and remove yourself and go, ‘OK, well we just have to see what happens’ and you go along with the flow. I think all of us would really love to play characters for as long as the fans will have it.”

The new theatrical trailer, along with the new movie poster, will premiere at WonderCon on Saturday before it makes its online debut on Monday. The time and place has not yet been announced, but stay tuned for a forthcoming announcement.

  1. Lily, I hope all the books are made into movies and I am really hoping that all the cast will be available to make all the movies. I love the entire cast! The rest of the movies would not be the same if the actors/actresses don’t remain the same. You guys are all so awesome!!

  2. If it’s going to air at WonderCon, and since everyone is so obsessed with TMI, then you know someone is bound to record and post it online before Monday. With that piece of knowledge, I’m seriously hoping to see it through a recording on Youtube! Sure, it won’t be in HD/480 quality… but since its TMI:CoB who the hell cares?! I’M STILL SEEING IT! lol 🙂

  3. I cannot wait for the trailer to come out on Monday, TMI movie trailer FTW, hopefuly the fans will be satisfied. ^^
