Yahoo! Movies has named The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones to their list of the ’25 Most Anticipated Movies of Summer 2013.’

25) The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (August 23)

There have been plenty of fantasy movies trying to fill the gap left by “Harry Potter” and “Twilight,” but this adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s bestselling series might have the best shot at taking over. Lily Collins plays a young woman who discovers she has the ability to see the demons that walk among us, and she joins a band of Shadowhunters to defend the human world. It’s got action, romance, werewolves, and everything else fantasy fans are looking for.

Head over to Yahoo! Movies to see the full list.

  1. tmi is going to b awesome!

  2. Stop conparing TMI to twilight
TMI IS NOT twlight IT IS 100000000% SOMER

    • Yeah, its notTwilight, but you don’t win anyone over by disrespecting Twilight, which connected with a huge number of people. We want everyone who liked twilight to go see City of Bones. We need box office if you want the rest of the movies to get made. All movies are compared to other movies.

I think people have to cool it with all the negativity when TMI is mentioned in the same sentence as Twilight. If you all noticed they also mentioned The Hunger Games which just means that this person thinks that TMI (and rightly so) has the potential to make as much money as both those mega selling YA franchises have done.

Twilight made something like 3.3 billion dollars worldwide and The Hunger Games made 800 million or something like that….? Seems like pretty good company financially speaking.

They mentioned Harry Potter not the Hunger Games sorry, I was thinking of the great teaser trailer for Catching Fire when I was writing my original post, but I hope you catch my drift.

      LOL

      • Yeah, we catch it or at least I hope we do!! (I know I do)…. It’s great that TMI even got on the list, which shows that people are starting to look at it closely and hopefully TMI will beat the odds

  4. I’m so happy for TMI and am so excited to see it. Although my only complaint is the fact that Yahoo made it #25 I mean seriously it could have been on the top ten, considering the fact that some of the movies that they put on that list I don’t even want to watch… But oh well it’s not like they recognize TMI’s awesomeness completely just yet that will happen later (Hopefully)<3

    • I agree. Some of the movies they placed above it made me go ????what??? and then they don’t even list it to allow votes. This is the second article I have read lately that tries to downplay TMI. I hope that we can make it a big hit as there are two other anticipated films starting the same day, although I do think the audiences are different. Then, we have the world’s best cast!

      • Yes we do!!!!!!! The most absolute, best cast ever!!!!! I hope COB makes it huge as I do want all the other books to be made into movies and I want to see much more Jace/Jamie!!!

      • Considering the fact that they probably only consider this movie just for teens and then the two other movies that TMI is competing with on opening day is at World’s End (which seems like a movies about guys getting drunk when the world is ending from what I saw in their description) and You’re Next (Which is supposed to be like the new types of scary movies from what they’re selling) But I think they consider the franchise such as TMI, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Twilight as just for kids and try to downplay TMI’s awesomeness because they don’t know much about it… And they’re totally wrong cuz TMI is for everyone<3<3 😉
