New MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES “Pre Show” interview

While scrolling through Tumblr we discovered a little gem brought to us by Nicky. Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower explaining the story of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones for new audiences for the “Pre Show,” a before the Movie Previews type of advertisement.

Although there is not any new footage of the movie itself, its always good to see promotions going out for the movie. Check out the video below.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones hits theaters in August.

I’m a bit worried about the “you don’t have to read the book to appreciate what’ve we done” well that was exactly what the beautiful creature’s cast had said and that movie was NOT as good as the book.

  I always keep in mind that the movie will NEVER be as good as the book, and try to keep Movie and Book completely separate.

    I agree Megan. And people who go to a movie expecting it to be as good as the book will always be disappointed. Adapting a book of several hundred pages into a script of 80-120 pages for a 2 hour film is impossible without making significant changes. Books can take the long and winding road to get from beginning to end. Movies have to take the straight road, simply because of the time frame. In the case of TMI, Beautiful Creatures, The Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga, etc. changes were approved by the authors. So fans of the books should just go and enjoy the films for the parts of the books they were able to keep, not the parts they had to change or leave out.

OMG! J. Myers as Valentine. I can’t hardly wait. Im on Book 3 right now. I hope they make a movie on the Infernal devices too, this series is one of my favorites.
