‘THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF ASHES’ to film until early December in Toronto
According to @jrkm_pop, The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes will film from late September through early December in Toronto.
Filming is slated to begin on September 23 and wrap December 6. Of course, those dates are subject to change due to production.

Where and when is the casting happening for City of Ashes? I am here in T.O till March of 2014……
For feature roles or extras? Agents probably have a heads up for feature roles already. It’s unlikely they’d do open casting for anything major like Maia, the other Lightwoods, etc.
Extras usually get the heads up 2-3 weeks before a scene is filmed. You’ll have to pay close attention to the breakdowns because they tend to not use the actual movie title when searching for extras in a big movie in order to throw off the crazies.

for movie experts out there, do you know how long on average it takes to film a movie? i always thought it would be longer. and they do hold open cast callings sometimes. like for harry potter, the character of luna was an open calling.
i would love to be an extra as i live near t.o. and that’s so exciting!
