‘CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE’ available for pre-order on Amazon + release date revealed?
City of Heavenly Fire, the final book in Cassandra Clare’s international bestselling The Mortal Instruments, is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
Amazon also lists the release date as May 27, 2014.
We’ve had confirmation that City of Heavenly Fire would drop in May, but there have been different release dates floating around and none of them confirmed. We’ll wait to say confirmed until it’s confirmed by Cassie or Simon & Schuster.

Pre-ordered for Kindle, but I was hoping for a box set release like with Clockwork Princess. I ordered that but refuse to take the plastic off of it ,
I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for what lies in those pages, I’m not ready to have my heart broken by fictional characters AGAIN, especially not on my birthday :p
I totally agree with you. I’ve read the first 3 books but am hesitant about reading 4, 5 & finally 6. I know 4 & 5 will be great, but I hate to waste that much time (even if I enjoy them) only to be severely disappointed in the last book. I had that happen w/ the ERAGON series – I never read the last book because a good friend told me about the ending (I wanted to know). For me, no matter how great a series/single book is, if you screw with the main characters & give it a crappy ending, none of the filler stuff matters – disappointing or incongruent endings destroy a novel. It’s amazing that approx 20 pgs can ruin THOUSANDS of pages. If Jace & Clary don’t stay together or one dies/goes to Heaven – that will completely tick me off (and that’s putting it mildly). So, I’m going to wait to hear how other fans like the last book before I put time into the other ones.
I understand where you are coming from… but the fourth book is a little boring but 5 was really…. really good…. and since tessa has been announced as being in book six… there is no way im not reading it… preordering it as i type this….
cannot wait! and may, so that’s what is normally been released for the past few years, but ahh the wait is painful! it’s going to be awesome and heartwrenchi and cassie may need the release date for revisions, and for it to be published.

I really dont like the “lives will be lost” part. I dont want anyone else, besides the evil brother, to die!!!! No one, period!
Totally agree. I hate books with sad/bittersweet endings. Jace and Clay BETTER end up together and it better not be one of them who dies! I hate when authors ruin a story by trying to make it impactful in a sad or disruptive way – trying to make the point “This is what happens in real life”. If we wanted real life depressing things happening, we WOULDN’T be reading book like these! All I can think of is the horrible movie CITY OF ANGELS – a guy angel gives up his wings so he can be with the human woman he loves. In the end, she dies & goes to Heaven and he’s left on earth by himself, having to live out a mortal life. Talk about ruining something good…Fingers crossed for the last book.
OMG, that’s sooooo far away. I’m going to go and pre-order it right away. Yeah, I don’t like the part where it says lives will be lost……(of course unless it’s Sebastian’s life).and love sacrificed – I don’t want to see any love sacrificed……I think it’s gonna be hard to read this book, but at the same time I won’t be able to put it down either. It’s going to be sad having the series come to an end though no matter how the book ends.

Lives will be lost. Seriously lost? So we can actually be sure that somebodies die? I dunno, in CP2 the only main character who died was Jessie (Will doesn’t count).
I’m so excited about the new book, however I’m also very sad about it. It’s the last one, and I truely hate knowing the story is going to be ending. I want Jace and Clary to finally be together, and I know this might not be right, but sorry, but it would be great if Clary got pregnant, I mean how powerful would that kid be,WOW! and the story line would continue.
