Lily Collins is waiting to begin ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes’
Last month, Constantin Film announced that production on The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes would restart sometime in 2014 after it was pushed back from a September 2013 production start.
MTV caught up with star Lily Collins (watch the video here) at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, and the actress revealed that she’s not sure exactly when production is set to begin.
“Well, there is a lot of conversation still going on,” she clarified. “I don’t know anything else; I kind of am with everyone else in the waiting game.”
Lily is excited to get back at it in City of Ashes, but confirms there is no set production date yet.
“I love the stories, I love Clary, we love the cast — I just have no clue,” the actress said. “I think I’m like all the fans going, ‘So, what’s happening?’ But you know they will be the first ones to figure it out when we do. You never know, right?”

I think that they’re waiting because as far as I know, Jemima West is still filming a movie in France (could be totally wrong; I’m not positive to be honest) so maybe they’re waiting on her to finish? Or maybe something happened with a set designer? That’s what I’ve been thinking from the beginning.
Jamie also starts filming a movie in January in France.

I remember hearing that they didn’t get as much money on the movie as they had hoped, so they stopped filming CoA to figure out what went wrong with CoB. The only problem i had with the movie was the character portrayal. I feel like they did a terrible job on transferring them to a movie. The only character that actually looked like the description was Simon. However, I still loved the movie! I wish I could tell the director or producer that though so they could hurry up and start filming CoA again 🙂
Most of us would not agree on the portrayals. The casting was mostly very good but the script needed help, especially the last half.
I totally agree. The beginning was good, pretty much how I imagined it. But the ending was a bust. They didn’t give Kevin and Jemima enough screen time given that they have such pivotal roles. I saw it win my mom and at the end of the movie, she still didn’t know who Alec and Isabelle were. They also didn’t have enough humor in the movie. Jace and Simon had a few funny moments, but it was a little too scarce if you ask me. That’s just my opinion, though.
Frankly, since she is the principal actress, the fact that Lily has no information whatsoever is not a good sign.
Yep. Pretty obvious from what she said and her tone she doesn’t think it’s going to happen. Seemed like she was just being diplomatic in her choice of words.
she is the main actress aand doesnt know woao that does not ook good at all! lets hope they want to do COA to see how it goes but frankly im doubting that and i want COA so abd it`s my favorite book of all!

I find it so awkward that they all thought city of bones was going to be this amazing movie, but it flunked soo bad. hopefully, the production company doesn’t get too overconfident this time around. something that definitely needs to be changed is the scriptwriter, that really messed the movie up:/
Hey, does anyone know what the major difference is between the collectors and normal Codex is? I know there’s a box and the pages are gold and there’s a ribbon, but I don’t want to pay $30 extra for it! Please help! 🙂

Can you believe Catching Fire will be out soon. I hope the Mortal Instruments does not disappear. I hated the cliff hanger at the end.

The movie was just off the whole way through! They didn’t even introduce Alec and Isabelle until like the end of the movie! I was so excited for this movie as the books are amazing but i was sadly dissappointed! 😦 i still bought the DVD though! Whatever we gotta do to get them to make the second film, lets do it!! Hopefully they will do better the next time around!
