Cassandra Clare shares comic strip scene from ‘City of Heavenly Fire’

We still have more than three weeks until Christmas, but Cassandra Clare is already spoiling her fans with City of Heavenly Fire goodies! (Thank you, Cassie!)

Cassie has very recently shared the uncut Clary and Jace cave scene and now she has posted a comic strip that was in the UK edition of City of Heavenly Fire. Said comic is actually from The Infernal Devices and it is called “The Wedding”.

London, 2009, so a year after the events of City of Heavenly Fire. There are some clues in here for Dark Artifices and even for Shadowhunter Academy, so if you hate spoilers, avoid!

A lot of people have asked if Will is “really there” or is a ghost. I never thought of Will ever haunting the world after his death. He had a good life and a good death and has no reason to hang around. There’s an implication in the comic that this is Will’s “one trip” from the afterlife, but an equal implication, I think, that he’s not there at all, and is just a figment of the imaginations of those who so badly want to see him.

You can decide what you want to believe. 🙂

* Art by Cassandra Jean of course!

Aw, all of our beloved characters gathered for a joyous event! 🙂 How many feels do you have right now? Tell us in the comments and don’t forget that there is another City of Heavenly Fire comic strip that we can look forward to!

  1. I like the “one trip” interpretation! That Will came back for Tessa and Jem’s wedding. Of course he would! That is definitely something he would do 🙂

    • I agree, because the one’s we love the most never truly leave us and Will, Tessa and Jem were so loved by each other, Jem and Will being like two sides of the same coin.

      • Those three were just gorgeous together. They are the only love triangle worthy of the name because all three of them loved the others.
And Will and Jem really are exactly that. Beat bromance 🙂

  2. Is it sad that in 30 yrs old and in love with fictional characters so much that this has me crying? She truly knows how to rip our hearts apart doesn’t she? Lol. I think I like the implication more that Tessa remained alive only to be with Jem and that it now seems that once Jem dies she will as well. She said “we’ll all be together soon”. That tells me that when Jem crosses that river to be with Will that Tessa will be by his side. Ugh feels are going haywire right now!!

  3. Im crying.

  4. Please tell me Magnus was the minister who married them

  5. OMG RIGHT IN THE FEELS!!!!!!! X””'( IT HURTS I’M CRYiNG I CAN’T EVEN IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  6. Absolutely phenomenal – both my face and heart are smiling…

  7. Omg, that made my fricken day! Thank you, Cassandra! What a beautiful gift to your fans, a fitting conclusion and closure. I missed Will in my favorite trio. But to see Jessie there too, happy! Wow. I feel like crying. Beautiful.

  8. THE FEELS

  9. The part were is asking if that’s another lightwood! I think their talking about simon. He became a shadowhunter so I think that he will end up taking the lightwood name so the line can continue just like Charlotte’s descendants took on the Fairchild name.

  10. Me, every time I see this particular scene: *sobs. *cries *rolls on the floor, crying

  11. THE FEELS THE FEELS THE FEELS THE FEELS OMFG!!!!! Will came back…… And Jessie! THE FEELS RIGHT NOW

  12. Has anyone thought what would happen when they all die? As in jem lives a mortal life, then dies. At some point tessa could die in a bizillion years. Wouldn’t there be another love triangle between them as ghosts? It did say someday they would all be together. Anyhow loved this!
