Principal photography for Lily Collins’ ‘Snow White’ set to begin on June 20
Comingsoon.net is reporting that filming for “Untitled Snow White,” which will star “Mortal Instruments” actress Lily Collins, will begin on Monday, June 20, 2011.
“In the film, an evil Queen (Julia Roberts) steals control of a kingdom, and an exiled princess (Lily Collins) enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal. The film also stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the object of their affection, Prince Andrew Alcott, and Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) as the hapless and bungling servant to the Queen.”
This is good news for “Mortal Instruments” faithful as filming for “City of Bones” is scheduled to begin after–though not immediately after–Collins wraps “Snow White.”
In an earlier article, I reported that Screen Gems is busy working around Collins and future co-star Jamie Campbell Bower’s schedules.
Principal photography for a film lasts roughly three months so filming on “Snow White” should be wrapped come end of September, which might suggest an October/November date for when principal photography gets underway on “City of Bones.”
