Alexander Ludwig was a contender for role of Jace

Alexander Ludwig was in talks with Screen Gems about the role of Jace Wayland.

Though it took more than five months, we finally found our Jace Wayland in Jamie Campbell Bower back on June 1 (and I think we can say–for the most part–that we are satisfied with the decision).

It was known that around 200 actors auditioned for the role, among those Ed Speleers, Alex Pettyfer and Leebo Freeman, and now we can add another name to the list: Alexander Ludwig.

Ludwig, who will appear in The Hunger Games as Cato, revealed on Twitter that he had discussions with Screen Gems about the role.

“I was in discussions with the studio (Screen Gems) about the movie,” Ludwig tweeted.

It seems as if Ludwig is also a fan of Collins.

“I’m a huge fan of Lily Collins,” he tweeted. “She’s going to rock it.”

Thanks to Everything Lily Collins for the tip.

  1. He was in my top five contenders…

  2. Cute but he would have looked too young maybe next to Lily. At this point, I still prefer Jamie :D.

  3. I think Jamie is a terrible choice for Jace! He is too feminine for Jace!!!!

I disagree. I think he is perfect for the role of Jace. Everyone else doesn’t really have the same physical attributes as Jace would have. I think Jamie is perfect and they chose the right person. (even though I love Ludwig, I disagree)
