Th3rd World is in the process of adapting The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones to an eight-issue series of graphic novels, the first of which is expected to hit stands this winter.

It’s been quiet on the news front in regards to the graphic novel adaptation, but Th3rd World doesn’t want fans to lose hope that there will be thorough updates in the near future.

Here is a comment they posted on Facebook in response to a fan’s question about City of Bones:

“We are currently working on the 4th and 5th issue,” the comment said. “I know we keep saying this but hopefully we will have an announcement soon. There are a lot of moving parts and we need them all to coincide with one another unfortunately. I know that sounds like a cop out, but it’ll hopefully be more clear soon. I will say though that Nicole (the artist) is doing an awesome job.”

Nicole Virella is the artist bringing City of Bones to the graphic novel world with Mike Raicht taking on the role of writer.

  1. I am looking forward to the GN just as much as I am to the actual movie(s). I adore Nik Virella and am in love with her drawing style (since I really dislike manga!) as it reminds me of the crime-noire greats I used to read as a kid. I cannot describe how glad I am that she was chosen to do the novels – she made the characters look the same way I envisioned them while reading the books – beautiful and very HOT! Seeing the finished product will be amazing. I hope that we won’t have to wait too much longer 🙂
