Charlie Bewley talks Cassandra Clare and ‘Mortal Instruments’
The lovely ladies over at Team-Twilight interviewed Charlie Bewley (Demetri in the Twilight Saga) when the Official Twilight Convention stopped in Cincinnati, Ohio, last month.
They couldn’t resist asking Bewley about The Mortal Instruments (which is the first two minutes of the video).

Bewley raved about Cassandra Clare, who he met in Italy this past summer as part of TwiCon 2.
“I did meet Cassie Clare and she was a lovely, lovely lady,” Bewley said. “The thing was, all of the Italian fans desperately wanted me as Jace. Some of them realized that I was never going to be Jace, which I understood from a long time before, and I’m elated for Jamie (Campbell Bower) that he’s got it.”
After some discussion with Clare about another possible role in City of Bones, they found out that there was no role for Bewley.
“There isn’t a role out there in this franchise for me right now,” Bewley said.. “Cassie was the same. She was like, ‘Charlie, you’re great, but I just don’t think there’s a role in this for you.’ At that point I had made my peace with it.”
Bewley, who was a rumored contender for the role of Jace in the early stages of casting, even prior to Lily Collins’ casting, said that he think he could have pulled it off but that he doesn’t want to play a younger character at this stage in his career.
“I read the script and, to be honest, I want to play outstanding characters but I don’t really want to go back to being a young kid anymore,” he said.
I don’t know about you guys but I could definitely see a young Valentine in Charlie if the film chooses to go in that direction.

I was thinking he would be a pretty good Sebastian/Jonathan! It’s always something to keep in the back of the mind, I guess.
