New ‘City of Lost Souls’ Snippet Featuring Jace and Alec
With just 17 days left until City of Lost Souls is released, Cassandra Clare has shared a new snippet from the upcoming fifth installment of the bestselling The Mortal Instruments series.
The snippet features parabatai Jace and Alec, who we learn are fighting on opposite sides:
Jace turned his head to look into Alec’s eyes. “I never thought I’d fight on the opposite side of a battle from you,” he said. “Never.”

oh crap. i’m so excited but oh crap between jace and alec( ilove this moment but it makes me sad). so Jace still loves clary even when’s he under the influence and he stills loves his siblings but he may feel he has no choice since they’re on oppside sides. oh perhaps he has been freed and this is towards the middle and sebastain still holds something over him (like clary’s life)

i think a lot of what happens bwtn Jace and Alec/clary/Izzy is him trying to trick Sebastian while being tied to him. Like playing nice or something.
