Shannon Kook a Contender for Role of Magnus Bane?
While no cast members have been announced for the City of Bones movie since the announcement of the film’s August 23, 2013 release date, casting is indeed active.
It appears as though casting for fan-favorite character Magnus Bane is active and might have a frontrunner in Asian actor Shannon Kook.
Kook shared several tweets discussing an audition in which he had to wear eyeliner and even posted a photo of City of Bones. Could he be reading up for the role of Magnus?
Kook is known for his role as Zane in “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”

OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS KID SOOO MUCH. he would male such an excellent Magnus.. YES YES oh please oh please YES.
seriously though he was my favorite character in Degrassi, and he wasn’t even one of the main ones.
He could so BE Magnus!
I can totally see him as Magnus. I’ll be excited if he gets it. Magnus is my favorite character. I was worried that they wouldn’t get it right, but if their looking at Shannon than I know they are on the right track.

I’d love to see how he acts. Although, I’ve never been a fan of Degrassi. I’m glad that they are sticking with keeping Magnus asian. 😀 Buuuut. My pick for Magnus would have been Aaron Yoo. He played in Disturbia, he was super goofy and played his part well. So, if Aaron isn’t Mangus, I expect him to be Jem! xD

He has always been Magnus to me, to be honest. Magnus is my favorite character and Shannon is the person I want to play him so when he is cast for the role (notice I didn’t say “if”) I will be most excited to see him. =D

Shannon has been my Magnus since I first saw his picture! He would be totally perfect for the role and would definitely do my favorite character in the series justice 🙂
If he gets picked, all this waiting for casting announcements will be worth it!
