To Jocelyn, who risked her life to keep her daughter Clary safe from Valentine and the dangers of the Shadow world.

To Maryse, who has stuck by her children–Alec, Isabelle, Max and Jace–regardless of the circumstances.

To Charlotte, who looks over those at the London Institute like they are her own children, even though they aren’t much younger than herself.
