Cannes: Mister Smith nearly sold out on ‘Mortal Instruments’
Mister Smith Entertainment, the financier for ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,’ has been busy at Cannes.
According to Variety, ‘Mortal Instruments’ has sold to Australia (Roadshow), Italy (Eagle), Scandanavia (Svensk), South Korea (Bloomage), Hong Kong (Lark/UA Films), Latin America (Sun Distribution) and Eastern Europe (Media Pro).
‘Mortal Instruments’ also sold to India (PVR), Indonesia (PT Amero Mitra), Israel (United King), Middle East (Jaguar), Philippines (Pioneer), Poland (Monolith), Singapore (Shaw), South Africa (Nu Metro), Taiwan (Long Shong) and Thailand (Sahamongkol).
Variety also reported that “Mister Smith is in advanced negotiations with a U.K. buyer and expects to seal the deal within the next day.”
‘Mortal Instruments’ has already been sold to Spain (Aurum), Gaul (TF1) and Germany (Constantin).
Principal photography on ‘City of Bones’ will begin August 15 in Toronto and New York. The film will hit theaters on August 23, 2013.
