Casting Talk: Has Isabelle been narrowed down to eight actresses?
The hype surrounding the film adaptation of ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ continues to pick up steam with the casting process fully underway.
There have been a lot of rumors surrounding casting, including those related to Magnus and Simon. Now a fan that attended Cassandra Clare’s signing in London on Saturday said that the list of actresses vying for the role of Isabelle Lightwood has been narrowed down to eight.
Now, there is no confirmation of this whatsoever, but fellow fans that attended the same signing have revealed movie information that has turned out to be factual in some way.
Phoebe Tonkin and Adelaide Kane are both Australian and have both been rumored in some way to be up for or interested in the role of Isabelle. Could one of them be on that list?
One thing is certain: casting news is bound to pick up fast in the coming weeks.

I love both Phoebe and Adelaide, but with Australian accents, would that mean the actors/actresses of the Lightwood family all have to have Australian accents? it would be really off because they are family.
They’d probably on rehearse, all the lightwoods and probably all make them do a british accent, all a whole new kinda on that represents Idris.
Actually, Phoebe would be able to do an American accent, she adapted an American accent on The Secret Circle

Phoebe would be great. I’ll wait until I see all the actresses, but Phoebe is physically close to how I imagined Isabelle while I was reading the books.

i read somewhere someone asked Cassie on Tumblr whether it’s true Adelaide kane’s gonna play Isabelle & she said nope. So that Australian must be Phoebe Tonkin? Haha I dunno~
NOT phoebe tonkin! every time i look at her i think of mermaids and nickelodeon, and she doesnt look like she could pull of Isabelle’s attitude well enough. Adelaide Kane is exactly how i imagined Isabelle.

Phoebe Tonkin would be awesome as Isabelle. And after playing Faye Chamberlain in the Secret Circle, Izzy’s attitude would be so easy. I think she’s the best for the job, she’s incredible
Seriously… They already cast Chris Riggi as Alec, and if you look at his pics, and then look at Adelaide’s pictures… Dear god, it’s like a perfect brother and sister looking match! She has pale skin and looks JUST like Izzy would in pics where her hair is straight. I’m all for the Adelaide chick. 🙂
