Movie News: Magnus hopeful says script is faithful to book
Actor Edward Zo, who was one of over 100 actors that auditioned for the role of Magnus Bane in the adaptation of ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,’ was “bummed” that he didn’t get the role, but is excited to see the book brought to life.
But he did say that, as a fan of the books, he was quite pleased with how the script remained faithful to the story, which is something fans can take as a good sign.
From the various tweets from actors auditioning for Magnus, it seems like casting director Stephanie Corsalini has a specific vision of Magnus that the actors are busy trying to pinpoint.
Such was the case for Zo, who lost out on the part because he was playing much younger than what casting was looking for.
Casting for the role of Magnus is underway this week and we should start to hear official castings in about two weeks.

I am about to cry because when he seemed to young to them they might not cast Shannon :'(((
i’m suprised that Magnus is this popular, then again he IS bisexual warlock…
that sucks but at the same time, i’m glad that the script is faithful and his enthusiam. i guess while mangus forever looks young, in actuality he is quite old,(so there comes a certain maturity) so i imagine they’re looking for a young looking actor or actor mangu’s biological age or who looks close to his biological that also portrays the maturity that mangus has from living so long (while also retanining some of his youthfulness)
The problem wasn’t that he was physically too young, it’s just that they are looking for someone wth more mature mannerisms… I think? :p
Perhaps someone who doesn’t tlk lyk dis! lol Magnus looks 19, but is 300 years old and is well spoken, highly intelligent and mature, also flamboyant…..not an easy one to cast! I’m kinda over the Magnus thing, didn’t realise he’d be this popular…..what about Alec and Simon?
Uh BPS, Magnus is over 800 years Old in TMI. He’s about 600 in TID….. Sorry but I just had to point that out…. GO MAGNUS!!!!!

Yeah, I can see why the casting said that Edward Zo looks too young, but he is really cute though :P. Can’t wait to see who Magnus is going to be. Still rooting for Shannon :), but I have a feeling he won’t be cast as well
