‘City of Bones’ begins filming in one month
Cue fangirl screams.
Filming on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones begins exactly ONE MONTH from today on August 15 in Toronto.
Lily Collins (Clary) and Jamie Campbell Bower (Jace) are already in Toronto for pre-production and have been spotted around town to-and-from meetings.
With casting far from over and 31 days until shooting begins, expect a slew of casting announcements in the next couple of weeks.
Here’s what we know so far about the movie:

CASTING UPDATES
Alec has been cast–but Cassandra Clare is sworn to secrecy until they work his schedule out
Jocelyn has been cast–the studio is just working out her schedule
The studio has agreed on a Magnus but they have to officially offer the role to said actor
The remaining major roles all have actors in serious consideration

We had better get some casting news really soon! I can’t wait to find out who plays Magnus and Alec! I’m so excited! It seems like all of the good movies come out later this year or next year: the Hobbit, Catching Fire, the Sea of Monsters and the City of Bones! I hope this movie lives up to its standards…
It begins filming on August 20th not the 15th. You can see the shooting dates on the Toronto filming production list and it would be pretty unusal to start production in the middle of the week.
The only casting I think needs to be soon is Alec. He will have a lot of stunt/weapon training to do plus needs to build chemistry with Jace and Isabelle’s actors.
I want to know who plays Alec and Magnus! They are some of the main characters, and some of the last to be cast. I would personally cast the main characters first an go down from there. I’m very happy with the cast so far, but if the full cast is announced so late, than there won’t be as much chemistry between actors and the movie won’t look as natural. But other than that I am ecstatic for the movie to come out!
I want to know who’s going to play Alec&Magnus! Please, tell us! It’s torment!

I’m so excited and definitely want to hear the resting of the casting news and yes I am going to try to be with a friend of mine and others possibly. We live in and near Toronto so it’s great! a weekend may work best as she works during the week

I’m very happy that they are doing this but i don’t agree with the cast not one bit. but i guess you can’t get everything right. I hope it’s really close to the book otherwise no point on doing it. Does Cassandra Clare like the cast? She doesn’t get to pick the cast does she? personly i think the person who wrote it should get to pick who’s who.
I hope it’s as good as the book!
I love just about everything Cassandra Clare has wrote and i would l LOVE it if it turns out just like the book! I can’t wait!
