Lily Collins is a redhead!
Lily Collins (Clary) and Jamie Campbell Bower (Jace), who are in Toronto for prep on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, were out and about in Yorkville on Saturday and were spotted by a few fans, including TMI Source’s new Toronto correspondent Nicole Correale, who exclusively revealed to a thrilled fandom that Lily now has red hair.
Nicole, who was taken by surprise by the run-in with Lily and Jamie, wasn’t able to snap a photo of Lily. But she did share this photo of Julia Roberts and said Lily’s hair resembles this deep burgundy shade:
No photos have surfaced of Lily or Jamie or Lily’s red hair–yet. Hopefully we’ll see some shots soon!

I do not think Lily actually can dye her hair orange red because of the dark color she originally has in first place. I would have like it tough…
Agreed. I think to get that shade of orange/red she’d probably have to bleach it to strip the colour which would be awful for her hair and would be a nightmare to maintain for someone with dark hair. A darker red is easier to acheive and maintain for a dark brunette.

I think the reason we haven’t had any pap pics even though Lily has been in Toronto for a while is because the paps don’t klnow she’s a redhead. She must be relieved as it was pretty crazy how invasive and persistent the paparazzi were last time just for pics of them walking.

Maybe if she bleached it, dyed it orange red and then took care of it? Or a wig? Besides her natural colour isn’t THAT dark, it’s more of a light brown.
Hmmm, don’t know how I feel about this…I was really looking forward to a more orangey-gold-red…More fiery.

I can’t believe that!!! Why? What, they can’t make her look like Clary. They should have picked a girl with orange-red hair. Its gonna ruin the movie because shes not going to look like Clary!
Is your post a joke? So it doesn’t matter the quality of the acting, script, chemistry with between actors or direction is? No matter how good these are the colour of her hair is going to ruin the movie. So overdramatic! The shade of red her doesn’t matter. It’s not like the shade of her hair defines the character.
Also we need to consider the fact that dye~jobs are usually done in stages. Prepping just started so her hair may end up an orangey red but they just haven’t built up to that yet.. It’s just a thought
i know, everyone needs to calm down, its like the hunger games, his hair isn’t blonde enough, her hair is supposed to be black, blahh it actually specifies dark so brown counts. anyway off topic, aslong as her hair is more reddish not reddish brown it should be fine. and i do understand you all, we all want the main character to look perfect, aswell as jace, but that isn’t exactly possible because everyone sees these characters differently. besides i am really happy anyway because compared to eg the books, i am no. four and inkheart there are others but still, it is pretty similar to the books. i mean eragon the movie was crap compared to the book and the plot was completly different. this movie is going to be really similar to the book like the hunger games so be happy isabelle doesn’t have curly blonde hair.

You’re right. Just some of things I read are so annoying. Always moaning about silly things when they should just be happy we are finally getting a film with such a great cast.
No, you don’t understand. I’v loved these books since I read the first one. Waiting to see what Clary would look like in real life. Now I’ll never know because her hairs to dark to make it any lighter.

It isn’t “real life”, it’s a film adaptation so plenty is going to be altered and changed and the shade of red of Clary’s hair is probably the least of things that is going to be different. You have an imagination and you imagined what the characters would look like before the film so just keep imagining whatever you want to imagine when you read the books. The book and the film are seperate things and you are just going to have to deal with things being different or just don’t follow the film at all if something as trivial as hair shade is going to “ruin the moive” for you.

here are the photos, you’re welcome everyone. The most likely reason it is a darker shade of red is because Lilly’s hair was so dark beforehand, it will gradually get to a lighter shade.
