TMI Set Day 11: Michelle’s report from the CITY OF BONES set

Filming on the highly-anticipated adaptation of THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES continued on Tuesday in downtown Toronto. I (@MichelleMags) made the trip out to the set for the eleventh day of filming and the first day of filming on Luke's Bookstore. Check out my full report:

Hello Shadowhunters! Before I address my report, I would just like to take this time to apologize to every tweet, messages, and DMs that I've "ignored". I would like to clear out this: I did not purposely ignore you, due to the ridiculous rainstorm, my phone got all jammed up and the touch screen could barely work, also, I was saving up my battery. The only times I've ever held my phone was to "try" to take a picture or check the time. I hope everyone asking for the set location, found the location and deeply apologize for my rudeness. Back to my report: I ended school at 12 'o clock pm and immediately headed for set. However, the buses were delayed and I stood under the heavy pouring rain for almost half an hour. The bus finally came and I was drenched from top to bottom and I was shaking with cold. I was contemplating if I should just call this day a "day off" and just try again tomorrow. Due to my stubborness, I did not want to miss anything, also because I know some of you depend on me to see what's going on in set-- so I didn't want to disappoint any fans out there outside Toronto who can't visit set.

I finally get on the second bus that heads to the major intersection by the set and Rebecca (@stolethenight), a good friend of mine who I just met last Monday during TMI Set Day 6, called me and told me where they were waiting. As I head towards them, I pass by the set and glanced around the window and see the crew setting up. Then at the corner, I see equipment trucks lined up on one side. I walked further down the road and found them on this coffee shop and stayed there for about fifteen minutes.

Eventually, we decided to walk around the block and see anything interesting going on– finally we see the NYC Cabs! I was literally grinning so much, it was such a nice touch on set. Luckily, I managed to snap a photograph.

Quickly after making rounds around the block. We settled back to the coffee shop and sat there most of the day. Today, I was not able to see any actors, except Lily, Jamie and Aiden–from a distance and very blurry because I have low vision. Most of the report that I can provide you guys today will consist of set up of the set, rather than seeing any actors. Given that there’s only three of them on call today for the scene and such.

I am so glad that the crew is very nice and understanding for our love of TMI that they do not kick us out at all. Even when we find ourselves accidentally walking into an area only for the cast and crew. Based out of our speculations, they must have been filming the portal scene today at around 6 pm (noticed by Rebecca @stolethenight) as she saw flashes from inside the store.

I could not give you guys a closer look of the set due to the amount of crew members either blocking the way or I’m too scared to pull out my camera. I’m sorry I did a poor job today but promise to try to have something of more… excitement tomorrow!

In general, nothing happened today besides watching the crew set up this water hose that connects to these pipes that look like those movie sets fake-rain pipes. I don’t know what’s going on in their heads, as if the natural rain wasn’t enough (perhaps it’s for tomorrow’s shooting) During the day, the set made tents along the back entrance for cast and crew. My friends and I would occasionally stop by, however, did not like staying there because nothing really happens besides watching the crew members walk in and out the tents but when we do stop by there, my new friend Nicole and I would gaze at this beautiful crew guy. Tall, blond and had awesome taste in fashion. Totally had to share that.

Tomorrow will be a brighter day. Seriously, tomorrow better have a much suitable weather so that I can have the energy to roam around and hopefully see more of the actors! Stay tuned tomorrow because I’ll be visiting set again with Rebecca, Nicole and maybe Sophie (she isn’t sure).

Until then,

Stay Sexy in Black Shadowhunters,
