THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES wraps filming in Toronto

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones title treatment

Filming on THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES has officially wrapped in Toronto according to executive producer Martin Moszkowicz, who shared the news just before 8 p.m. EST on Nov. 8.

Principle photography began back on Aug. 20 and wrapped on Nov. 8. Shooting was set to finish on Nov. 7 but ran into Nov. 8 because they hadn’t yet finished filming.

Director Harald Zwart and the second unit are set to film exterior shots in New York City probably next week.

A teaser trailer for the film is set to run in front of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, which hits theaters on Nov. 16, and is expected to premiere online prior to that date.

THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES hits theaters on Aug. 23, 2013.

Check out our list of 10 things to look forward to now that filming has wrapped.

  1. So sad but so exciting that they’re finally done!!!

  2. Yes, it is bitter-sweet. Part of me is so sad that it’s all done and everyone be leaving 😦
I will so miss the daily news, pics and surprises like whose hand will it be today???

But on the other hand, we are that much closer to actually seeing our beloved story hit the big screen and that is going to be nothing short of amazingly, fantastically, awesomely, wonderful 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. This is the first time I ever become involved following the filming of a movie on line so closely or personally and it has been exciting for me. Time went by so quickly.

    • Same here! I’m so glad I fell in love with this amazing series way back when the idea of it turning into movies was just my wishful thinking! 🙂
