Now Bower’s first leading man test comes with The Mortal Instruments, in which he broods and battles while romancing Lily Collins (he must have done OK – the pair have hooked up in real life).

What: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones 

Turner will steal the hot dwarf limelight from Richard Armitage when he brings a little romance to the Hobbit trilogy in The Desolation of Smaug – his Kili making eyes at Evangeline Lilly’s elf Tauriel.

Best known until now as a vampire in BBC TV series Being Human, Turner will turn werewolf for The Mortal Instruments.

THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES hits theaters on Aug. 23.
