Jace confronts Magnus about Alec in new CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE snippet
As a little extra motivation to vote for THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES in the Final Four of the MTV Movie Brawl (against a group of Mundanes in Spring Breakers), Cassandra Clare has shared a snippet from CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE.
In the snippet Jace confronts Magnus about Alec being miserable (and a brief Chariman Meow mention).
Magnus rolled onto his back and put his feet up on the arm of the sofa. “What do you care if Alec’s miserable?”
“What do I care?” Jace said, so loudly that Chairman Meow rolled off the couch and landed on the floor. “Of course I care about Alec; he’s my best friend, my parabatai. And he’s unhappy. And so are you, by the look of things. Takeout containers everywhere, you haven’t done anything to fix up the place, your cat looks dead —“
“He’s not dead.”

I love Jace so much! I want to read CoHF so badly it hurts
First of all, Jace is one of the funniest characters I have ever known, second of all, I have a not-so-peculiar feeling that Jace is trying to get Malek back together. (P.S. I know someone who’s last name is Malec. Whenever a teacher is calling role, I get reminded of City of Lost Souls.)

Aww. It’s somewhat nice to know to know that Magnus sounds just as miserable as Alec is about their break up. It just really shows that Magnus really does love Alec. I bet though that there was an ulterior reason that Magnus broke up with Alec, not just the whole “you tried to shorten my life” thing. I honestly hope they find a way back together because if they don’t I AM BURNING ALL OF MY TMI BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Malec HAS to pull through! They just HAVE to!!!
I really don’t think thats the only he broke up with him, don’t get me wrong I think it was the catalyst but I don’t think its the whole story. I think he is just afraid to love Alec or afraid of how much he loves him, maybe that just made the betrayal even worse. But I get the feeling he is trying to protect him from something, maybe even himself. But who knew, Jace the relationship councillor!
Yeah, that’s what I meant. Because he said in CoFA when Alec said that “the next time he fell in love…” Magnus said that there wasn’t going to be a “next time”. He even implied in CoLS that he was seriously considering becoming mortal just to be with him. That’s got to tell you that he really does love him enough to give up his own immortality! So, I think he broke up with Alec for some other reason other than his betrayal. Some ulterior reason like to protect him from something and used the whole Camille/Meetings/Betrayal thing as an excuse to break up with him. Perhaps it was because of his father? I don’t know, guess we’ll have to wait and see until next year. lol

LOL!!!! You just gotta love Jace. He is my most favourite character of all time. I also love Jamie. I don’t know how I am going to wait for COHF to come out………sigh I also can’t wait for all the books to be made into movies. They are going to be the best movies ever made. I hope the same actors are available for all the movies. 🙂
Ikr? Can you believe that Hollywood originally wanted to squeeze all three books (when it had initially only been three) into one single film? When I read that I was like, “How did they expect THAT to work?!” lol

I feel Malec will get back together mainly because I think Cassandra Clare wants to live to finish the Infernal Devices Series and start her new series and if they don’t get back together due to death by angry fan mob…;)
