Photos + Recap: CLOCKWORK PRINCESS signing in Mesa
The Clockwork Princess bus is large. The inside from what I could see looked comfortable and inviting with a fancy sink and plush chairs. Not a bad way to spend several days riding around the west meeting groups of people who adore you. I'll admit I wish I was on it. The idea of spending a week with these three funny, sweet, intelligent women would be alluring to anyone. I did have the pleasure- along with a few hundred other people- of spending some time with them on Tuesday in Mesa, AZ. There were fancy dresses, goofy dances and serious questions. Cassie was gracious and did her best to answer all the questions that she possibly could in the very short time she was allotted. I'm sure we all would have been happy to sit there for hours listening to her talk about the series we all love. As well as the three series we have yet to read The Bane Chronicles (co-written with Maureen Johnson and Sarah Rees Brennan), The Dark Artifices and The Magisterium (co-written with Holly Black).
Those who were lucky enough to have their questions answered were given a small token in the form of a rune charm, that is until Sarah want crazy and start throwing them at the crowd causing a mad rush. Due to the enormous amount of books she had to sign it was important that the Q&A end with enough time to meet every person in the audience. Which they did 🙂
As a gift Cassie was giving out TMI movie posters, rune buttons and packs of TID collector postcards drawn by Cassandra Jean.
Maureen had loads of The Madness Underneath stickers and tattoos. Sarah not to be outdone gave away English penny necklaces and the first chapter of Untold.
It was a really great day and I’m glad I got to spend this book birthday with a group of people who enjoy this ending series as much as I do.
I’m also not ashamed to say had Sarah fallen in that orchestra pit I would have laughed. Secretly kinda hoped she would.
