Cassandra Clare shares first ‘Lady Midnight’ snippet
After releasing Cassandra Jean’s artwork for her upcoming Shadowhunter series The Dark Artifices, Cassandra Clare also shared the first official snippet from Lady Midnight.
The cycle hit the beach and spun out. Emma went into a rolling crouch as she flew free of it, keeping her elbows in, pushing the air hard out of her lungs. She turned her head as she hit the sand, slapping her palms down to roll herself forward, absorbing the impact of the fall through her arms and shoulders, her knees folding up into her chest. The stars wheeled crazily overhead as she spun, sucking in her breath as her body slowed its rolling. She came to a stop on her back, her hair and clothes full of sand and her ears full of the sound of the wildly crashing ocean….
Lady Midnight will be released in 2015 and you can read Cassie’s unidentified snippets which could be from The Dark Artifices here.

Love the strong female characters. Growing up, I always fantasized about using weaponry and having adventures. I can relive my girlish desires with Cassie’s books!

I really hope that the titles follow suit like the other series and not be somewhat all over the place. I mean I like the titles do not get me wrong but something I liked about Cassandra Clare’s series is all the titles follow suit. For example all the books from The Mortal Instruments begin with City of…, The Infernal Devices begin with Clockwork…, and the new upcoming The Last Hours will all begin with Chain of… If not I will survive because Cassandra has created a masterpiece of a series and I am thankful for the world she has created.
I can’t wait! Write faster, Cassandra! 🙂
