‘THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES’ trailer airs during Teen Wolf
Shadowhunters who happened to be watching Teen Wolf (starring our Clockwork Princess audio book narrator Daniel Sharman) got a special treat during one of the show’s commercial breaks on Monday, June 10.
The full theatrical trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, complete with new release date and “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. In theaters Aug. 21” voiceover, appeared on MTV during one of the network’s most popular shows.
Shadowhunters, did you catch the City of Bones trailer during Teen Wolf? What was your reaction?

Not to be rude but the movie looks just like true blood twilight and the vampire diaires but together to me which is not a bad thing.
That is quite rude actually for you to speculate that The Mortal Instruments is like those movies and television shows. For one thing, if you have read the books (I am thinking you haven’t) the vampires and other supernatural creature have more of a back story and more of a better supernatural abilities than say; the vampires in True Blood or the Twilight Saga. I cant really critic the books of Twilight as I love Twilight, but I do think the vampires in The Mortal Instruments is far better than the ones in Twilight when it goes to back story. Same goes with the werewolves, and the witches of The Mortal Instruments when it is compared to say; Twilight Saga again and The Vampire Diaries. I love the Vampire Diaries. But in Vampire Diaries are centered manly on the Vampires, which are the bomb (btw). But mainly not on the Werewolves and the Witches. In the Mortal Instruments, Cassie Clare explains all the needed elements and principles that are needed to know about them, the same with the Twilight Saga – even though they don’t have Witches, which would be awesome. In the Mortal Instruments, the Werewolves are explained more and more and shown a back story and a more friendship and family relationship with their pack than the Twilight boys, And its not just all boys with shirts off, its women and men – young and old. So no, if you have read the books, you’ll know that the Mortal Instruments City of Bones looks like nothing like Twilight, and I hate to hear that from more people when the movie is actually realized because it is a good series and shouldn’t be judged by other movies that they don’t like. 🙂 Sorry I just had to say this, have a nice day!
This shadow hunter….. I have been trying to find out why I love tmi and TID soo much and your so right. It’s not just guys with their shirts off. Except jace. It’s all people young and old men and women. Their backstories and friendships. They all link together and weave beautifully.
Finally someone understands. Every person I explain this to just says it looks like Twilight.

I was watching and just kinda started freaking out! I might watch the episode again on demand just to see the trailer on the tv screen another couple times!
i was watching in on much music, so i might not have seen it anyways! but i taped it and that’s awesome! so maybe it’ll be on during the commerical break
I can’t get over how awesome the marketing team is for this movie. I’m so glad they’re actually putting stuff out there (and so early too) and not fully relying on the popularity of the books to get people into the theater. You can’t just put a trailer out a couple weeks before and expect people to show.
This movie will be massive.

I’m not from the US so I don’t know but in Ireland trailers for movies never air as early as this on tv, you see them in movie theatres but not on tv. Is this just a TMI marketing thing or is this usual practice in the states to see trailers on tv this early?

Kinda reminds me of Twilight now (though the books are nothing like it)
I don’t understand why people think this is just like Twilight. I love Twilight, and I love TMI, but they are nothing alike. And I have seen all of the Twilight movies so many times, and they look nothing like the trailer. So if you don’t like Twilight, than you don’t have to worry. I think they are doing great with this movie. Yes, there are vampires and werewolves, but they are completely different. I think we should stop comparing this movie to Twilight. Two completely different stories, there is no way that this movie could even be similar to Twilight. I love this trailer, the only thing that bothers me is that Jace kills the Ravener instead of Clary.
