‘THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES’ coming to San Diego Comic Con on July 19

City of Bones movie cut

We’ve known for awhile that The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones would be making an appearance at San Diego Comic Con in July, but now we have a definitive date for the panel thanks to Sony Pictures.

The Mortal Instruments panel will be held on Friday, July 19, in Hall H, and will feature exclusive new footage from the highly-anticipated adaptation.

So who will be at Comic Con this year?  Why don’t we let Lily Collins explain?

Joining Lily on the panel will be: Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, Cassandra Clare and director Harald Zwart.

Any Shadowhunters attending San Diego Comic Con?

How come Gemima West is never at these sort of events with them? I feel like she’s just as important as Kevin Zegers

Hey. Is anyone attending the signing in London on 4th July and if so do you know what books she will be signing or what she will be signing! Thanks and see you there!

I have no idea, but when she came to New York for the Clockwork Prince signing, she signed any books you brought from home and any 2 you just bought at the store

  6. I can only assume that maybe Jemima and Godfrey’s schedules were conflicting with Comic-Con. No way would they just exclude two stars. No worries, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of both later this month and in August.

    • I doubt their schedules conflicted. Godfrey is even in LA during when Comicon is happening. Unfortunately studios are actually stupid enough to just exclude actors like Jemima and Godfrey because they don’t think of them as “stars” and they don’t get that people show up at this kind of thing to see characters, characters they care about, not “name” actors. As for why Kevin and no Jemima, Kevin lives in the US. They were probably just too cheap to fly Jemima from Europe. Here’s hoping Screen Gems’ lack of experience at book to film adaptations doesn’t sink this movie.

But I can’t see that being the case. They’ve been forking over big bucks for a massive marketing campaign thus far and I can’t see two plane tickets and accommodations being any type of dent in Sony’s pocket right now…

I read that 11 members of the Divergent cast (incl Veronica Roth and the director) are going to be on the ComicCon panel compared 6 from our beloved TMI, even though the cast is as large. Well this is not Summit’s 1st rodeo with a YA series, and here’s hoping Screen Gems/Constantin should learn a thing or two from them – ie how to market a franchise 101…!

  7. So no Godfrey or even JRM or Lena? Ok, it sucks, but whatever…

  8. WTF? What about Godfrey Gao? The Magnus Bane?

  9. I’ll be there! Can’t wait to see the panel!
