Shadowhunters! Cassandra Clare will be making a special appearance at the Mission Viejo City Hall Council Chamber on Sunday, August 11 at 3 PM, where she will talk about the forthcoming The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, answer fan questions and sign books.
The event will act as a “pre-premiere” of sorts as a CBS television crew will follow Cassie around with cameras capturing everything on film.
Event details from MissionViejoLife.org:
When Cassandra Clare hits the red carpet for a special event in Mission Viejo on August 11, a CBS news crew will capture every bit of the excitement that awaits her.
Clare is the wildly popular New York Times bestselling author of the Mortal Instruments series, which has sold 22 million books worldwide. The TV crew is expected to film Clare during her 3 p.m. appearance in the Mission Viejo City Hall Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. Her last Mission Viejo visit in March attracted hundreds of fans eager to meet the charismatic author (See the clip here).
This red carpet event is a pre-premiere for the soon-to-be-released film based on her “City of Bones” novel. The “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” movie is scheduled to hit theaters August 21. See the movie trailer at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1538403/.
The public is invited to meet Clare, the author of urban fantasy, as she discusses “City of Bones” and fields questions from the audience. The plot follows a teenage girl, Clary Fray, and her quest to rescue her mother who is attacked and taken from their home in New York City by a demon. This seemingly ordinary teenage girl finds out the truths about her past and bloodline.
Books will be available for purchase and signing. This free event is sponsored by A Whale of a Tale Bookshoppe and the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library. Seating is limited and fans will be seated on a first-come first-serve basis.
