I agree…..esp. with Lily….. no Jennifer Lawrence performance happening here…makes me that much more jealous of the THG franchise….they have the best actors
The clips are edited. Especially the “Don’t Come Home” clip. If you weren’t able to watch the five-minute clip on yahoo! then you should know that there was quite a bit more to it than what they have posted here.
We already saw most of these, they are re-releasing, or putting in them in better quality 😛 AND the only reason why Jace is so serious is because in the books did Jace ever actual laugh t his on joke? Nope. So stop criticizing him!

Love these clips. We already know the one where she’s confronting Jace is a weird cut; there’s Jocelyn scenes interspersed in there in the final one.
The Institute clip is magnificent. Still can’t get over that beautiful score and that door is amazing.
I always read Jace as dry and sarcastic, especially in the first one when he still has his guard up so Jamie seems to be doing that justice in my opinion. And these are big reveal scenes so I’m not sure how Lily/Clary is supposed to be anything but dramatic… Already more facial expression in 2 clips than in 5 whole movies of a certain other YA book to movie series.
The lack of facial expression isn’t always a proof of good or bad acting, it depends on the character. For example, Emma Watson’s acting in early Harry Potter movies is pretty bad because she makes too many facial expressions (in the third movie,, it’s simply horrible). But I agree that in the YA adaptation you talk about, the lack of facial expression makes the bad acting (or the bad character, because honestly I still cannot telll). For the moment, I’m not really convinced by the casting of City of Bones and these clips let me sceptical. But I wait to watch before judging.
The thing is a really great actors can use their eyes, voice and postures to express emptions. Using to many facial expressions is called overacting and unfortunately many people today think it’s great acting. Kristen Stewart is a great example of a great actress no matter what some people think, look at the movies she has done over the years, she was terrible in that teen franchise but everybody was terrible in those movies. Not a good movie to compare with.
I totally agree with that Kristen Stewart plays very well in most of the movies she’s done. Unfortunately, it’s for Twilight that she’s known and yes, her acting is bad in theses movies. Is it related to teen franchises in general ? Maybe. It’s true that, the Hunger Games actors excepted in my opinion, the acting of the main actors in the others YA movies is rather shitty…

Oh comon seriously people can you NOT TELL that these are all patched together??? They cut out loads from these scenes cause they dont want to give too much away!!!! Just watch the first clip a couple times there”s so much jumping its obviously not the whole thing. Seriously.

i think a few too many people are worrying about how Jamie’s made Jace come across too much, of course hes serious at the beginning he doesn’t even know clary yet and if you watch the behind the scenes clips its shows you them filming a certain scene at Madame Dorothea’s and it shows you his cocky sarcastic side just from filming, you’ve got to give them chance they can’t show us all the footage just bits:) i think Jamie’s done a perfect, spot on job of Jace just from the clips been shown in my opinion and its only going to get better as we ALL finally get to watch the full movie:D and like its been said above in the books Jace has never act laughed or tried to get a laugh out of his sarcastic-ness its just who he is being arrogant and cocky:L the jace we ALL love lets be honest!:L
In the coffee shop, the background music is ‘All About Us’ by He is We from the movie soundtrack!!!! So happy they used it in the movie!

Wow you guys dissect every line, every expression, everything every second. Do you do that every movie you see. How can they possibly get every second in a book into every movie. So far looks to me like they have done just fine.

People need to realise that the clips are edited. Lots of stuff is cut out And you guys need to remember these clips are out of context from the movie.

it seems to me Jamie did a very good job as Jace. Serious and sarcastic. But I’m a bit worrying about Lily’s acting
but I don’t judge until I see the hole movie 😀 Can’t wait!!!!
I disagree totally !! enjoyed huger games but the performances were not amazing!! Katniss and peter were totally different than how the books portrayed them, I think lily and Jamie are perfectly cast..lily is pouring her passion into the role..just what is needed
Oh and come on lily overacting..she is playing someone who just found out she can see someone no one else can and she also thinks he murdered someone…so is she meant to be all calm , cool and collected….. Hello !!
Um, no I don’t agree.at all. I think Jamie is going to do a kick-ass job of portraying Jace and and is the best male actor around by far. I know him from Camelot, Sweeny Todd, Twilight, etc. He’s fantastic. I will wait to voice my opinion of Lily as I have never seen her act before.Same goes for the rest of the actors. But no one can beat Jamie! 🙂
