  1. ‘word-of-mouth’ positive references are also very important. encourage people to go see it who are not already fans of the books. Write positive reviews on Fandango and other similar sites.

  2. Good Job Australia! I wish I could go see it today!!! But tomorrow will be here before I know it. And word of mouth works!! Also thanks to a 16 second clip I found on youtube when I was looking up reviews for the movie, I convinced 3 friends who live across the country that were debating seeing it yet or not, to go this weekend (one is actually headed to see it now XD)

  3. I got some good news the box office for the U.S for city of bones is increasing with $16 according to a source even though he has a shitty attitude about it but hey we are making some progress

  4. critics are actually pissing me off, these fat old men sitting on their seats thinking they know what is going on, im so mad right now

    • Same here, there is a reason I am listening to fan reactions only. Not all of those are positive, but they are honest reactions from people who love the characters.

    • That’s because those pigs have forgotten what it was like to enjoy a movie and have a good time and also be considerate

    • I think the films struggling because they keep saying it a rip off of twilight (which it isn’t) and this is putting non-fans of twilight off which is a lot of people to be fair it so annoying that the critics are so boring and narrow minded.

  5. this is a awesome news!

i cant wait the release for the other countries.

i just hope that the “City of Bones” make +80million in us.

  6. You can always count on us Aussies! ❤

    • Yeah!!!!! You guys are AMAZIN!!!!!! Defo my heroes right now!!!! I finally saw the movie today – I am soooo happy….my reaction afterwards was grinning ear to ear and l was laughing wiv joy. Im still scared though – I cant imagine city of ashes not happen so Plz Plz PLZ -LETS MAKE HISTORY HAPPEN!!!!”! *feeling determinded* Also I plan 2 c it again on sunday (hope it counts as its uk time) and again on wednesday as im gonna bring 4 “mundane” friends wiv me!!

    Ok so this helps things!

  8. I agree with everybody in the comments, the critics are complete assholes, don’t even read the reviews unless they were a fan already because really they’re just comparing it to Twilight and scoffing. Go Austrailia, I knew it would increase c: going to see it again tomorrow.

  9. Wait until the movie opens the 30th in Mexico Its a huge fan base here

  10. There’s still so many countries the movie hasn’t opened in yet. I don’t think it’s even fair to judge the success of the movie without actual numbers from those countries. U.S is a big market, yes, but it’s not the only one that matters. I’m really happy the movie did well in Australia, but the only thing that people seem to notice is that’s it’s not doing as well as expected in the U.S, It gets really frustrating, especially when you take into account that Constatin Films is not even an american company but an european one.

  11. Well done my fellow Australians, super super proud of us 🙂 I wasn’t sure it would really do well over here because I haven’t seen much promotion for it on tv, there has been good promotion on Facebook, and I have seen some at my university, but not much else. So I was really happy to see this. I haven’t had a chance to see it yet, but I’m going this afternoon, which is a Saturday, with my sister (non fan). Also going to see kick ass 2 with my brother tonight so I’m super excited today 🙂 Fingers crossed it keeps going well guys

  12. In spain we have a lot of promo in tv (even the news showed the premiere and stuff) and we have a good fandom so i think it will be good when the movie releases here (30th)

  13. I’ve seen City of Bones three times. All three times there were only about 2 dozen people in the theater. WTF people if you loved the books go and love the movie !

YES GO US! me and my friends all went together on opening night (25 of us) that may have helped a bit.. and I’m going again today with my sister :))))

  15. This film requires no thinking whatsoever. If your looking for cheap thrills and a lower standard of storytelling and plot development this is the film for you.

Here’s another review that might intrigue you. http://theweek.com/article/index/248587/girls-on-film-the-confounding-problems-of-fan-fiction.#

It talks even more about the film and its inspirational author.

Oh, and I’m going to try and bring 3 mundanes who want to come.

  17. I’ve never been prouder to be an Aussie 🙂 I saw it opening day

  18. I think that city of ashes be even better as it will add to the character development like the book did so hopefully it’s still going to be made.

  19. Hello there! I just arrive to my home and i have to tell you that the movie IS amazing!!!! I bring 2 “mundanes” with me and they love it! now they want to read the books! So everybody go to see the movie!!!!I Is not a waste, believe me 😉

The movie is simply excellent! I liked it so much I saw it twice. I don’t understand why the critics are hating on TMI. It’s so different from Twilight and HP. Jamie Campbell Bowe is the perfect Jace!! Kudos to all of the young actors. They delivered a solid performance.

  21. YAY! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
    WE WANT MONEY $-$,
    WE WANT SEQUELS

  22. yay this is great news :] can’t wait to see how it does in mexico.

  23. Go us Aussies. Ive seen the movie twice and plan on seeing it again. I have no idea what the critics are on about I loved the movie and I hope they continue to make the rest of the series. So see it as many times as you can so we can get this done I will be so mad/sad if we dont go any further than City of Bones

  24. Watched it online! Loved it and the books too! Can’t wait to see it doing well in other countries!
