Pre-order your signed copy of ‘City of Heavenly Fire’

cohf-billboard

Cassandra Clare recently shared that she had signed about 2,000 first editions of City of Heavenly Fire for Barnes and Noble and you can now pre-order your signed copy of the last The Mortal Instruments book!

In addition to Cassie’s signature, these copies

will also be stamped with a rune stamp, and some of them — totally randomly — have [Cassie’s] sketch of Church in them.

Pre-order your signed copy of City of Heavenly Fire from Barnes and Noble or from Books of Wonder.

The US first editions will also

have a portrait on the inside of Jace, Simon, Maia, Alec and Isabelle done by Cliff Nielson […] All the books will also come with a note from one of the characters in the end that is handwritten and printed, and leads into the Dark Artifices series. That’s every book, not just the first editions.

Fans can also get their copy signed during the City of Heavenly Fire launch in New York on May 26.

Furthermore, I’ve made a list of internet stores where fans around the world can preorder City of Heavenly Fire:

Amazon US / Barnes and Noble / Book Depository / Amazon UK / Amazon GermanyAmazon Canada / Amazon France / Amazon Spain / Amazon Italy / Amazon Brasil / Amazon India / Amazon Japan / Amazon China

If you are going to preorder City of Heavenly Fire in your bookstore then these numbers will be useful:

ISBN for the McElderry hardcover:  978-1442416895

ISBN for the Walker Books paperback: 978-1406332933

ISBN for the McElderry paperback:  978-1481417761

awesome but what about for canada?

  5. How do you know if your book is one of those 2000 signed?

  6. I don’t care about the signature – it can always be signed if need be. Will all of the US first editions (ones on Amazon Canada and US) have the photos of the character’s? Or do we have to buy from Barnes & Noble?

  7. Does anyone know whether there’s a difference in buying a paperback or a hardback? Do they both have the special content? 😀

    • So far we don’t know if the paperback will also have the special content. I’ve got the UK edition of Clockwork Princess which had the family tree and I’m pretty sure Walker Books will include the special content for City of Heavenly Fire.
We will keep the international fans posted (especially since I’m one of them). 😉

  8. Does anyone know whether there’s a difference between the hardback or the paperback copy? Do they both contain the special content? 🙂

  9. Where can I but the first edition? Is the first edition the one they are selling at Barnes and Nobles with Cassies signature? Because I REALLY want one with one of the portraits and her signature’!!!

    • To quote Cassandra Clare: “As to how to buy first editions — basically first editions are all the copies in a publisher’s first print run. They last until they sell out. So the earlier you order a book the more likely you are to get one.”
You can pre-order a first edition with or without a signature at Barnes and Noble or you pre-order your (unsigned) first edition elsewhere. Just make sure to do it ASAP.

  10. Yep…just preordered mine!

I just pre ordered mine. I live in the UK and I went on the Barnes &noble website this morning. It was $13.88 but I didn’t have time to order it this morning. When I arrived back from school it was $24.99 and that’s when I ordered it. All in all very excited and a tiny bit disappointed. But hey, a signed copy is amazing and even $24.99 isn’t that expensive. Can’t wait

  18. I ordered mine from Barnes and Noble last evening but I’m not sure whether it will be in stock T^T

  19. Are signed copy only for US? What about Europe? 🙂

  20. I bought like 5 at the $13.88 for me and all my shadowhunter buddies. Lol. My mom thinks in crazy for getting so many.

I think you can get them in Europe also… I’m in California so I don’t really know

  21. I ordered one! 😁

  22. Guys the book can be sold internationally so don’t worry. I pre ordered one I’m safe now!!!!!!!! CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. I just pre-ordered mine, Im so happy! Cuz Im happy,grab along…

  24. I ordered mine yesterday afternoon! And they do ship internationally at Barnes and Noble, I live in Australia

  25. I ordered a signed copy from B&N today. The price was $13.88. A few days ago though it was $24.99. Does that mean that i ordered the non-signed edition or just that the store dropped the price? I’m a little confused because the receit says that it’s the signed copy. If someone could help i’d be grateful! 🙂

    • Hi, Gloria. I had the same problem about the price. But the customer rep says it’s the publisher’s prerogative to change the price and that the price may still change until the day the book is shipped.
I purchased last week and the price was $24.99, the next day it was $13.88 and it’s still $13.88 today. Hope it stays that way 🙂

      • Thanks a lot for your answer! 🙂 I e-mailed B&N and they said the same thing, that the price wasn’t up to them.Furthermore, they confirmed that i had pre ordered the signed edition so I’m ok!

  26. I’ve tried to pre-order this book, but I’m not getting any email that says that I have bought. HELP!!!

    • Hi. You should contact the customer rep, you can chat them. The reps reply asap.
Anyways, I hope there’s still a stock available because I tried placing an order (again) but the word “signed” was not in the book’s description. So I’m not sure if I will still get the signed copy if I order now. I’m afraid the 2000 copies were already ordered. But, I hope not.

Hmm. I followed the buy a signed copy link from Cassie’s site to B&N, but B&N says nothing about it being signed? I’m hoping that’s not because they’ve sold the 2000 copies already. Does anyone know? I was thinking of just ordering it anyway because I wouldn’t mind a hardcover first edition (there aren’t any hardcovers in Australia.)

  28. omg!!! B&N SAYS NOTHING ABOUT A SIGNED EDITION!!!! HAVE THEY ALREADY SOLD THE 2000 COPIES???? NOOOOO OMG!!!

    • I preordered 3 months ago a signed copy from Barnes and Noble they said it will not arrive its a trick.

  29. ATTENTION EVERYONE: All US and Canadian first editions will have the character drawings, in case you missed out on the signed editions. And you don’t have to buy from B&N.

  30. I bought the signed edition and it was $13.00. CONFUSEDDDDDDDDDD

  31. Still happy I got a signed edition though.

  32. I had already preordered my copy before this from amazon 😦 I want a signed copy but I can’t order it now cuz I can’t TTVTT

  33. Where can I get the colector’s first edition?

  34. Melanie Wright // April 2, 2014 at 10:41 PM // Reply

Are there still signed first edition copies at Barnes and Noble for pre-order? I’m finally going to be able to pre-order it tomorrow and am hoping to still get a signed copy!

  35. Camilla Jensen // May 20, 2014 at 2:38 PM // Reply

Could anyone please tell me whether there’s a difference between the hardback and the paperback? 🙂 I’ve ordered the book but for some reason it has listed the hardback and I wanted the paperback but now I don’t know whether there’s a difference in the content? Please help!

    • The hardcover copy will have art by Cliff Nielsen inside the cover (Jace, Isabelle, Alec, Simon and Maia) whereas the paperback (UK) will have a comic strip.

      • Camilla Jensen // May 20, 2014 at 2:44 PM //

Damn it.. why can’t they make it the same? Now I have to decide which one I want. 😦 The paperback fits the others but I really want the artwork as well. 😦
        But thank you!

      • Camilla Jensen // May 20, 2014 at 2:45 PM //

I guess I’ll just have to buy both at some point. 😀

  36. Barnes and Noble has lied to fans. I ordered my copy 3 months ago and yesterday I was told my signed copy is not there and they cannot tell me if it will arrive, most likely will not. I am so mad!!!!
