Mark talks about his brothers and sisters in new ‘The Dark Artifices’ snippet
It’s a new week and we got a new The Dark Artifices snippet by Cassandra Clare.
In today’s snippet from Lady Midnight, Mark Blackthorn talks about his younger brothers and sisters:
Mark whirled on them. His eyes were blind, unseeing. “You bring the twins in front of me and you kill them over and over. My Ty, he doesn’t understand why I can’t save him. You bring me Dru and when she laughs to see the fairytale castle, all ringed round with hedges, you throw her against the thorns until their pierce her small body. And you bid me wash in Octavian’s blood for the blood of an innocent child is magic under the Hill.”
Cassie herself called the snippet ‘grimmish’ and also noted that “not all snippets make it into the finished work but they are parts of later drafts”.
It looks like Mark is confronting someone, maybe a faerie? What are your guesses? Sound off in the comments.
The Dark Artifices: Lady Midnight will be released in 2015/16.

I think the Gwyn and the Hunters are making Mark see hallucinate that he’s seeing them hurt over and over again.

Seems like the Wild Hunt also does mental torture on top of physical

Yeah and people yhink Emma got it bad, bitch please she hasnt even felt pain the way Mark has done it! The Wild Hunt are hard people they will torture mark because he is a halfbreed and you know how downwolders are with those! just look at Simon and Raphael
I agree with the comments before mine. I believe the Wild Hunt is mentally torturing him. In COHF, he admitted that he gave himself up because he thought his family was dead so I wouldn’t put it pass Gwyn to use the one thing he still cares for in an attempt to break him
