‘Shadowhunters’ Set to Premiere in Early 2016
ABC Family held its upfront on Tuesday in New York City where the network discussed its upcoming projects, including Shadowhunters.
The network announced that Shadowhunters is set to premiere in early 2016.
While there’s no set date as of yet, early 2016 in ABC Family speak means January 2016. So we can expect to see Shadowhunters on our television screens as early as January! What a way to celebrate the new year!
Shadowhunters was ordered straight-to-series with a guaranteed order of 13 episodes.
Yesterday, it was announced that McG will direct the series premiere and also serve as executive producer alongside showrunner Ed Decter.
Production on Shadowhunters is set to begin next month in Toronto. No casting has been announced yet.

Does anyone have any idea when we might expect some casting news? I don’t know much about how tv works with regard casting and stuff. Can we expect something soon or will it be a case of them waiting to make the announcement closer to the time
I think they had said casting was to happen around may, but that wouldn’t make sense since they’ll film at that. Lets just wait and see.

I am not exactly sure here, but if you do get ABC Family in the UK then that would be a yes. If not, then ABC Family usually streams the episodes online for free the day after the night the episode premieres like most TV stations 🙂

I hope they tread carefully and keep all the fans in mind. That’s all I want. At the end of the day, we are the ones that made this series a best seller and we will be the ones to give them the ratings.

hey even thugh we dont get abc here in the Uk we do have the shows spread out on different channels primarily sky channels and itv have abc shows does that help @christineSheperdson

Seem a bit fast. If they want it on the air in June. They really need to start to filming asap. Editing can be bitch especially if you need to make it look magically and super natural.
never mind, read it wrong. Earlier Januari should be good. It’ll air when shows as shameless start and shows like TVD, SPN are all half way their seasons. It lessens the competition a bit, though TVD is probably coming to end next season, so they should really try getting their fanbase hooked on this show.
