  1. I have tried several times to watch this 2nd episode and can’t. Don’t promise what you can’t deliver. I am done with this show.

  2. Is there any way to watch the episodes from Germany? The app can´t be downloaded in Germany and I don´t have Netflix. Does anyone know if Amazon video is going to stream the show?

    • Right now we only know about Netflix, maybe it will be on Amazon later on. You can try Netflix for free for one month. After that it’s 9.99 €/month.

  3. Not valid out of US..
    What a pity, what a shame 😦

  4. Better than the first episode! I love it. I don’t really mind the changes, and acting will definitely improve later on. Otherwise, Netflix wouldn’t have been interested in airing the show as it is released.

go to freeform.go.com that’s abc family/freeform’s official website now. It has the first two episodes. I don’t have cable, so I’m just going to watch on my computer from now on for it.

  6. I finally got to see episode 2. I’ll admit it is a bit better than the pilot but the Institute is still throwing me off. The technology and other Shadowhunters walking around not really interacting with the main cast kind of makes the Institute look like, dare I say, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, a bit of Arrow and Flash. Why couldn’t they keep it like in the books, glamoured and simple lit up by witchlight or have a similar interior like Supernatural’s Men of Letters Bunker just a bit bigger since it’s a church. Speaking of, I can’t even imagine Church (the cat) living in place like this, high tech and all.

  7. I don’t like Clary’s vision-like necklace. It’s distracting, it doesn’t give the storyline time to develop or for the characters to react. For instance, instead of actually searching for Dot or finding any clues, Clary gets a vision and BAM they automatically know where Dot is and rush to the Pandemonium. I think it could of been more exciting if they went to Dot’s apartment, interacted to get to know each other a bit more and so could the audience and then faced a forsaken or whatever. Also, Clary’s necklace kind of stole the spotlight of Izzy’s demon detecting necklace which is more significant to story.

Another distraction was Dot. She took away Magnus role. He’s supposed to be more involved and so far we have gotten barely a glimpse of who he is. He just a stand-in with no purpose. Everything has been about Dot.

I didn’t like Hodge nor the rune that keeps him from speaking about the past. It made the show a bit Harry Potter-ish. ‘You know, they don’t speak of you know who?’ but in this case, they cannot talk about, *whispers* you know, Valentine and the Circle.’ I liked that Hodge gives an explanation of the Shadow World, Valentine and Circle in the books and the film. It works.

And what didn’t make sense to me was if they cannot speak of the past, then how does Jace know that Hodge and his father (Michael Wayland) where part of the Circle? Wouldn’t that mean Jace would hate Hodge too since in this tv version of Jace, he holds a deep hatred for members of the Circle, for getting his father killed. It makes no sense that he has this knowledge.

Changes are necessary, I get that but couldn’t they have kept the culture of the Shadow World and stick to the important points of the story instead of cluttering things that are distracting?
