Freeform has released three new sneak peeks from the second episode of Shadowhunters, titled “The Descent Into Hell Is Easy,” which airs next Tuesday.
The three new sneak peeks feature Simon and Isabelle getting to know each other, Clary, Jace, Simon, Isabelle, and Alec searching for Dot, and Dot being held by Valentine.

What the fucking fuck was the point of Dot?
I kind of agree with Alanna. Who is Dot? Why was she even in the script? I really didn’t mind the changes to everything. Im a long time fan, so I thought the differences were fresh and exciting. But Dot… she was a throw-away character.
Dot is Madame Dorothea……
I think that the point of Dot was to show that people are dying because of Valentine and because we knew and- were supposed to- like Dot, her death would have a bigger impact on viewers. That’s just my guess.
How did we get from Valentine injecting his son with demon juice, which was an integral part of The Mortal Instruments, to a Valentine with and array of syringes containing (?) that he injects into prisoners who conveniently stand close enough to the bars for him to “needle” them? The first 2 sneak peeks were promising. The third is just weird. I intend to watch the second episode before January 19. Hopefully the plot won’t go completely pear shaped.
Wonder if “Dot” is a nod to Madame Dorothea, a major character in the first book.
You’re right, Dot is the new Madame Dorothea. I’m not sure what the syringe is, but I think that it’s for torture or something as I only saw it used on Dot and Pangborn and it killed Pangborn. I’m pretty sure that the ‘random human prisoners’ are mundanes that he’s going to make into Forsaken for his army.
