Cassandra Clare shares first ‘Lord of Shadows’ snippet

The Dark Artifices

Cassandra Clare’s Lady Midnight was published two weeks ago and it has quickly snatched the #1 spot on several bestselling lists. Many fans who’ve already finished the book are eager for the sequel – Lord of Shadows – so Cassie has just shared the first official snippet on her tumblr.

SPOILERS FOR LADY MIDNIGHT!

Kieran shook his head. “I cannot do it,” he said.

“Kier —“ Mark began angrily, but Kieran had his head down, like a beaten dog. His hair fell, sweat-tangled, into his face, and his shirt and the waist of his breeches were soaked in blood. “You’re bleeding again. I thought you said you were healing?”

“I thought I was,” Kieran said softly. “Mark, leave me here —“

A hand touched Mark’s shoulder. Cristina. She had put her knife away. She looked at him, levelly. “I’ll help you get him over the wall.”

Please keep in mind that Cassie is still writing LoS so the snippet might not be in the final version, but for now – enjoy 🙂

God its gonna be a long year!!! 😦

  2. Poor Kieran! I don’t like him that much, but I can see why he’s so arrogant. Who wouldn’t be with a father like that? Still no excuse to be so uncaring though. I can’t say anymore without being spoilery though. Maybe he’s changed though. I hope this ends up in the book, it actually made me feel bad for Kieran.

    Toodles!

    • Same; I don’t much like Kieran. I didn’t really ship him with Mark or anything but I do hope things turn out okay for him.

  3. Kieran is the past now. It seems like Cristina is Mark’s future.
