Cassandra Clare shares new ‘Son of the Dawn’ snippet to celebrate Jace’s birthday
Happy birthday to our beloved Jace!
To celebrate Jace’s 27th (21st in the Dark Artifices timeline) birthday, Cassandra Clare took to her Instagram to share some Clace art ♥ and also posted a snippet from her upcoming short story Son of the Dawn, which is is the first installment in her Ghosts of the Shadow Market short story collection.
By the Angel, we love Loweana’s art and now we also want to kiss Jace!
And here is the snippet that Cassie shared:
Aww! The snippet gave us so many feels and it reminds us of City of Ashes (chapter 19) when Maryse and Jace talked about his childhood and how they first met:
“You were the first thing I loved, you see, after him, that wasn’t my own blood. The first living creature. And you were just a child-”
“You thought I was someone else.”
No. I’ve always known just who you are. Ever since the first time I saw you getting off the ship from Idris, when you were ten years old – you walked into my heart, just as my own children did when they were born.” She shook her head. “You can’t understand. You’ve never been a parent. You never love anything like you like your children.”
What do you think of the snippet and the art? Sound off in the comments below and also tell us what you’d give Jace for his birthday 🙂
Son of the Dawn is written by Cassie and Sarah Rees Brennan and it’s out on April 10!
Happy Birthday Jace!! I’m very excited to read the next group of short stories. I miss the Shadow World. Both of those snippets hit me right in the feels.
❤️HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACE!!!❤️ I love the art too.
