Cassandra Clare shares semi-unidentified ‘Chain of Gold’ snippet
We haven’t had a snippet from The Last Hours in over a month, but Cassie changed this when she shared a “semi-unidentified” snippet from Chain of Gold (TLH #1) on her tumblr yesterday. Since it’s still Pride Month, the following passage features two same sex characters, but we don’t know their names (thus the semi-unidentified part):
Keeping the secrets of who might get together with who, end up with who, or even have a fling with who is important to me where it comes to TLH…so I found this bit that doesn’t give anything away after a tiny edit. 😉
He took a deep breath, and crossed the floor of blades and constellations to the other boy’s side. He stood at the foot of the stairs, looking down.
“But of course,” he said, very softly, “your sentiments are reciprocated.”
He stooped over him, tilting his chin up. Their lips met. The other boy made a soft sound, almost like surrender, stretching under his body. He slid an arm around his neck and pulled him down onto the stairs.
Aw! 🙂 I don’t know who this is, but this sounds like a sweet moment.

Im going for either Matthew and somebody or maybe Alastair and Charles since they are best friends IDK but I am really excited to find out.
I think the floor of blades and constellations might be in the Silent City, I dont know Im over-analyzing probably

It cannot be Matthew, I think. Matthew felt something for Lucie. I have a feeling this is Alastair and Thomas.
I think either Matthew, for some reason I thought pretty much from the beginning that he would be the one or Thomas and Alastair (I can’t really remember who is related and who isn’t)
It’s Matthew! I mean, Matt loves Oscar Wilde… And Oscar Wilde was gay. So, Matthew can be an open minded. I think he can be bisexual.
I think the one talking is Matthew because it just sounds like something Matthew would say/how Matthew talks. I’m not sure who the other person would be though

I think (and hope) that it’s Alastair and Thomas. I dunno, but I think that would make a lot of sense.
I know I’m very late to the party, but I’ve just finished the book and this snippet is no where to be found. Definitely chemistry between Alistair and Thomas, but all who have read the book will know.
I cannot wait for the second book!
