It’s no secret that Jamie Campbell Bower has made his way around various YA franchises, in Harry Potter and Twilight.
Now he is preparing to take on his third in “The Mortal Instruments,” playing badass Shadowhunter Jace Wayland, which will be his first leading role in a YA adaptation.
Hollywood Crush posted an old video when Bower was busy promoting his series, Camelot, in which he revealed that perhaps he is subconsciously drawn to supernatural, Young Adult fantasy roles.Vodpod videos no longer available.
“It’s just the way that I look! It’s the hair and the face and being English, I suppose. I’ve always just been draw to a great tale, I suppose. And with ‘Twilight’ and ‘Potter’ and ‘Camelot,’ you know, they were great, great stories that I really wanted to be a part of telling. I would, however, like to play Joe Blow in a romantic comedy. I think it would be exciting. It would be a challenge.”
Bower seems to be getting quite comfortable in the YA fantasy world as he prepares to take on his first leading role in the genre.
“Am I drawn to those kinds of stories? Maybe. Maybe subconsciously. Maybe I’m just doomed to be the guy at Comic-Con for the rest of my life.”
I, for one, am looking forward to him being that guy.
